I think Sukuna used something to help shield him from the hollow purple other than just Mahoraga. He has mentioned that another hollow purple like what blew his arms off to start with would be fatal. This was a big purple and Sukuna is indeed conspicuously intact. Sukuna is probably no longer thinking about winning, but rather escaping. I don't think we'll see his own CT until he has a rematch with Yuji or Megumi.

I think the truly wild part of that purple is the fact that Gojo does it literally on the fly.. like.. this guy had the "I wonder if this would actually work" "maybe it will, maybe it wont" mindset when he made that purple and then was like "well, here's hoping I don't die because I'm gonna take "risk death to win" to heart with this attack and blow myself up as well, SMILEY FACE"
