Can't believe that was his first film. A fantastic performance.

John Carpenter’s “The Thing” is as near perfect a movie that I’ve seen. The plot, cast, and music are absolutely amazing.

Apparently Keith David doesn't know how to age.

  • @draskang
The THING! was his 1st movie?! talk about a home run!
  • @eddixon2015
He's a legend. He's one of the few actors that you can put in any movie and he will always preform.
  • @craigh8602
Hahaha... "The Black guy lived." He's right. Best SciFi/horror flick ever.
  • @Locadel2003
This man has also a great underrated career. He has an hilarious role in There is something about Mary, he has a nice role in Pitch black, a very creepy role in Requiem for a dream, one of the best fights of all time in They live, a nice military roles in Armageddon and Platoon, a great sidekick role in marked for death, a fine performance in clockers. Great actor

His velvety voice can make a grocery list sound like poetry.
  • @TvXperia
He might just be the coolest guy alive

I love you Keith David but you were The Thing at the end.

We have James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman, two black men well known for their amazing voice for voice overs, but I think Keith David's voice is one of the best, and very underrated. Loved him in The Thing and They Live, and I also like his voice over work for the Beef series, as well as various things over the years for WWE.

he was fucking great in that movie....also in platoon
  • Very good actor especially in the 1982 The Thing, in my opinion, one if not the best John Carpenter movie ever made 💯
  • What made The Thing so great was the exceptionally talented cast. Keith David is such a great and believable actor. He really sells it which is what makes this movie such an incredible classic and so nightmarishly horrorfying is that these actors make it believably real! Their reactions are perfect. It's stood the test of time. I've watched this movie at least 20 times and it's just as scary the last time as it was on the first. Wish I could see it in a theater again!

Keith David has brought us some of the most memorable characters of all time, definitely one of my favorite actors.
  • I loved the way the ending made me feel, it was amazing. All that paranoia from the movie, all that wondering who was who until we only have Mac left, and just when you think it's over Childs shows up to give you that sense of paranoia one last time. Maybe nobody is the thing, and John just wrote the movie in such a brilliant way that you, the viewer, end up being just as paranoid as the crew once was and refuse to believe that the 2 guys can have a semi happy ending sharing a drink knowing that they gave up their lives to save the world, because you're allowing the paranoia to consume you just as the crew had.

I also loved him as the psycho vet in men at work with Charlie Sheen and Emilio Estevez, sooo funny, ''Yes sir, officer sir!''
