This surprised me quite how much work was involved but once I had the idea I had to give it a go. I've also wanted to make more Yosegi for a while and wanted to try a unique pattern that I hadn't seen done before. I knew it was going to be a lot of work and I didn't make things easy for myself but I got there in the end.

As always I'm happy to answer any questions.

One of the most important tools in a woodworkers arsenal is patience. I don’t know of any YouTube woodworker that illustrates that better than you do.
  • @BiggMo
Pask has more patience for redundancy than any human I’ve ever seen…. Kudos

1st, that was absolutely gorgeous, Neil. 2nd, your patience is phenomenal. You are a fine example of wait & see. 3rd, when you say 'give it a go' something wonderful is going to happen. It may not always be successful to you, but for us? You bet! You end up producing a wonder that is incredible. You are a joy to watch, you explain your rationale. You use the tools & equipment that many of us have access to then brilliantly show what can be done with expert tools. Thank you for all of your content. Thanks for being here.😊
  • You are absolutely insane, my friend! No way I could do all that tiny work. Kudos to you for showing what patience and perseverance looks like. Beautiful shavings!
  • @larpbusters
One of my favorite maker channels. Genius tier woodworking.

imagine doing this work with manual tools only.... aaaaargh haha. I totally love the result ♥♥ The effort and conviction that went into this project is clearly visible. And when you said you learned a lot of things even though you'll probably never repeat it... Well, famous painters also only have one of each, and I consider your work like this to be art of the same level. Anything you decorate with these shavings should also be treated as such.

You saying "I have to be careful." cracks me up. When are you ever careless? Amazing patience and care to make something beautiful is what drew me to your channel and keeps me coming back.

There are patient people, and there is Pask Makes, it is another level... 😂 incredible work!
  • @jamesogorman3287
You prove on nearly every project that your patience exceeds mine. Thanks for your efforts.

Dear Mr Pask, I like your videos and I don't know since when I started to follow you. I really appreciate it, that you leave in the parts with mistakes or the ones some watchers might think are boring. In my perception they are essential to understand how much work and time goes into beautiful things. I hope you can go on as long as you like with your works.
  • @corinkayaker
Let’s build another Kayak so you can cover the deck in this pattern! Awesome work mate but I have no idea where you find the time and motivation for protects like this. Amazing though ;-)
  • @allystrya
I don’t comment much but I have truly enjoyed watching you for over a year now. Your so many talents and your creativity has been inspiring. Your patience is something to be aspired to. You’re confident yet humble which I find refreshing. And, as a US individual, your accent is enchanting 😂. Thank you for all your beautiful and diverse work!!
  • @howder1951
Incredible perseverance and patience for a stunning final effect. Bravo Pask!
  • @kzookid2051
Wow, this is an amazing project. I so appreciate that you show all the steps and mistakes, so we can try to make things also. I may never make anything this complicated, but odds are I'll use many of the techniques in different projects. A huge thanks to sharing your woodworking with us.
  • Neil, as I have said before, your patience for your beautiful projects is amazing:yougotthis:.
  • @bogmaerke
This is genuinely awesome. And the cherry on top is literally the part when you say "I'm not sure what to use it for yet"! 😂
  • @marylamb2130
Wow! It makes me really appreciate the old masters who did things like this without the power tools.
  • @MCsCreations
Neil, you're crazy! 😬 But exactly the kind I most like! 😂 Really well done!!! Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
  • @egbluesuede1220
Here's a dumb analogy....I do a lot of cooking, and get recipes from friends all the time. 3 ingredients and only 15 minutes!!! Yeah, you won't starve but probably better off with a bowl of cereal for dinner. You probably get well meaning suggestions for making tables or such. Just 4 legs and a top in only 15 minutes!!! I love that you spend days working on a detail like this. It takes an incredible amount of time, patience and skill and the result is absolutely world class. Thanks for not doing things easy.....I'll check out other channels for "Microwave" woodworking projects! ;-)
  • @MrRevell13
You're a more patient man than most Pask, great work as always!
