Thank you Jerry for another invaluable tip. Iā€™ve learned so much from you. Amazing App!

I'm gonna check this out. I had this issue earlier today
  • Blip appears to be an interesting app and thanks for the report on it, Jerry. As for myself, my experiences with Air Drop being "finicky" are long since gone. Initially, Air Drop on my Intel based MacBook Air laptops since 2015 would exhibit some difficulties. But I never had any issues with my iOS to iPadOs Air Drop transfers - NONE - so I attributed my very infrequent Air Drop delays as an infrequent incompatibility with machines having an Intel CPU. But, since I have switched over to my Apple Silicon based M3 Pro MBP laptop, I have not experienced ANY Air Drop issues at all. And, I perform quite a few Air Drop file transfers - "relatively speaking" - on a monthly basis. If this app works well within Android and Windows ecosystems - That is a GREAT thing. As for me., Air Drop file transfers are a no muss - no fuss experience.

AirDrop is very reliable for me. I use it frequently between my devices and to my wife's iPhone and MacBook. The speed could be improved and that alone makes it interesting. The site says they plan on keeping it free for personal use.

Interesting. I wonder what ultimately is going to be Blip's monetization strategy

blip require wifi on both device or my mac can be offline and I can send it? with air drop I can drop without internet

jesus. it's just work and working well with android also....Sidecar and Airdrop is very buggy if we have multiple devices. Most of the time I go with cloud Storage instead..Thanks for sharing

Edit2: I see this was in the video. I just stopped midway to try the app. It looks like you end up in a public directory to make it easy to find people you need to share things with. The emails are slightly obfuscated, but I donā€™t like how easy it is to find random names and guess emails. Edit: the core of what it does is great though, but some privacy controls and opt-out would be great.

Isnā€™t the main point of AirDrop that I can use it everywhere without any Internet connection or connection to a local network or wifi hotspot?
