Breathtaking old town. I'm Romanian, I was a child 12 yo during the war, I remeber when my dad said to me "These guys are madmen, they are bombing Dubrovnik, that is a jewel!". I do not think it is important to place blame today, I beleive it's better to enjoy this wonderful scenary under the shade with e beer, and make sure that that kind of war never happens again.

Wow, I heard that Croatia had some filming locations for Game of Thrones, but when I saw the city it immediately clicked that it's King's Landing.

Been there with my wife, loved it! So fun seeing some of the same places!

Visited Croatia last year. We fly from Helsinki to Split and rent a car from there. I really recommend Krka national park, amazing waterfalls, Zadar sea organs and Split old town

Dubrovnik is a gem for sure!! I was lucky to see it in 1985 when it was still in Yugoslavia. Such an amazing place. Happy Travels Gelato is Italian for ice cream!

I visited Dubrovnik in 2007 or 2008, when I spent also some days in Montenegro. I plan to visit again Croatia, is a beautiful country. Enjoy your stay!!!!!

Where I visited in Croatia it was very Rocky with cliffs to jump from straight in to the clear ocean and they had very nice Pasta and Pizza. Rented a big house, great time :)

Funny enough, Ivana is very popular name in Croatia :) If you are visiting Dubrovnik, I would suggest you get yourself Dubrovnik card - 1 day pass gives you city wall entrance, as well for most of the museums and 24h ticket for public buses for the same price of the city walls entrance. Homeland war museum (not included in Dubrovnik pass) is on the Imperial fortress above Dubrovnik, there is cable car going up, and the view from the hill is also spectacular. The beaches in Dubrovnik and around are mostly rocky/pebble beaches, but some islands north of Dubrovnik have sandy beaches, most popular being Šunj beach on Lopud island, about hour boat ride from Dubrovnik. The sea can get very warm - usually in summer time (mid June till September) it is 23-27 degrees Celsius. May and October varies from year to year. This (2024.) we had a late start of the summer.
