Eddie Fender and "uncle Edd" is new, but i could get used to it. Verity Gavelle will probably adjust fine for me. Tabitha Lloyd, idk i didn't care for Nicole enough to have it be a surprise. But i will NEVER, you hear me? NEVER, get used to Sebastian's localization name

Eustace Winner is a fine pun. He is a "useless whiner" early on after all.

I actually kind of like the headcanon that the characters themselves picked their new names. Justine's pick was something really elegant and fitting, Shields's pick is kind of goofy but catchy, and Sebastian's pick is total crap. Jokes aside, I don't mind the new names that much, even Eustace Winner has a sort of "so bad it's good" charm that fits the character.

Y'know, it didn't take me too long to get used to the new names... but you just brought up the fact that their voices are also going to be different and THAT is something I am not excited for. š

Honestly my biggest objection with Eustace is the āWinnerā part. Eustace is a real name and it mapping onto āuselessā makes sense story wise. āWinnerā just doesnāt sound like a name and it also sounds incredibly childish. Which fits for who Eustace is but what about his dad?? Doesnāt he need at least a little bit of dignity? We canāt round out the evil old man trio with von Karma, Gant, and /Winner/. Just doesnāt sound as good š

Itās going to take a lot to get used to all the changes. Not only in peopleās names, but also brand names (goodbye zZz, hello 3Zs) and dialogue. It just shows how much of a good job the fan translation team did.
