"Just one more, Lord." Chills, every time.

He saved more than the film showed. God was giving him strength.

You can’t make a movie better than this
  • The fact that Doss persisted that he only got 50 people down (not factoring in those who did or didn’t survive), whilst his fellow soldiers, the people he saved, and the doctors at base argued that he got more than 100 down that survived (and countless more that succumbed to their injuries, those including Japanese soldiers that he also sent down). So, to appease his fellow soldiers and his officials, Desmond Doss was credited with saving 75 people in the battle of Okinawa and awarded with the highly prestigious medal of honour for those 12 hours he was up there on Hacksaw Ridge, unarmed and injured, saving lives

It’s crazy they had to leave some of his real life experiences out because it would look like they over exaggerated his story for the movie

Andrew Garfield absolutely deserved an Oscar for this, it was unfortunate that there was so many incredible movies out that year…

We taught our boy scouts to tie a bowline one handed so if thrown a line they could hang on with one hand while tying the line for rescue They were timed the Average time 3 seconds

Anyone else taught this knot in Boy Scouts recall it being called "the Doss Hitch"?
  • @JayLupe
Fun fact: He not only saved his fellow soldiers but also the enemies.. respect.

When ever he said Just one more Lord I start crying. This man made me cry all thru the movie tear of joy
  • @Ian_Ayse
This is actually right because doss was saving people with destroyed legs so it makes sense that he used another knot to help soldiers

Love that movie. My dad watched this when it first came out and he said at the end of the movie the whole theater was silent
  • 'Please God, help me save one more!' Loved every moment of this film, and am blessed to discover this man's amazing story! 🙏

I watched this movie the other day on the plane and it made me cry! I still think of it! What an inspiration Desmond Doss was, especially as a fellow believer! I pray to have faith and selfless love for others like he had 🥹🙏🏽🤍

Definitely an amazing feat done by a man of Faith. The film giving honor to his feats truly are something to admire regardless of a small discrepancy

After saving 70+ people as a soldier, now he saves a city's residents as spider man

When he went BACK the next day I swear I gasped louder then than in any movie ever. Unforgettable film. Hugo Weaving was also heartbreaking in this.
