Pure anecdotal, I had a co-worker that regularly suffered from kidney stones, since he was in his early 20s. His doctor advised him to stay away from the well water he had been drinking his whole life, as there was a high mineral content in the water.

Glad to see you, fairly okay. Nice to do a sail. Sounds like mom, Amy, is getting a break. I had a bad k.s. problem when young and it's still there, but I keep it in check, permanently it seems, simply by staying well hydrated. I keep water on hand, sip a lot, avoid thirst. Each case unique tho.
  • RO strips minerals from your body, so it's highly unlikely to cause a stone, which is literally a build up of minerals. Low water consumption(based on location and activity) is the most common cause, followed by a higher than average protein diet(depending on genetics) and being overweight and sedentary. If your parents had a history of stones then you would also be more likely to create them. Various meds can cause a build up of calcium and uric acid as well.

People who live on land also get Kidney stones, so not the water. Really hope you get better soon, not a nice experience.
  • Darling!!! So sorry to hear about the kidney situation. Eish... I miss your pretty feet sister!
