It looked like Vishy was hanging by a thread the whole time, when in reality, he was dominating

When Vishy plays like this he is every bit as entertaining as Tal in his prime. My head spins trying to sort through how he could possibly see the combinations of moves he seems to always find. Great video and analysis!

I met him a few years ago in the Cap d agde event. I exchange a few words with him about his book and how to use it. I still have the picture of him and i on my desk. Nice nice guy !!!

Picasso once said it took me a lifetime to learn to paint like a child again... In this game Anand played like a complete beginner, or at least his play reminded me of how I used to play before I learned how to play chess... With the difference that he crushed a GM. Absolute jaw dropping genius from Anand, and before computers existing to validate his moves, shows Anands true genius and passion for the game... I can see in my imagination Anand prior to that game playing on his own with these variations on his board some cold night of winter drinking hot chocolate and hearing the drizzle of the rain outside planning out his moves! Chess is a wonderful game :)
