how to start a war in the comments 1: talk about ANYTHING in the balkans edit: Even after 4 years people are still ultra nationalist in the comments. (note the replies are a balkans political hell hole)
  • "We are Slavs who came to this area in the sixth century ... We are not descendants of the ancient Macedonians" - Kiro Gligorov, FYROM's first President, Foreign Information Service Daily Report, Eastern Europe, February 26, 1992.
  • Alexander the Great was born in Pella. That place is in Greece. The Slavs were not anywhere near that region until many centuries after his rule that spoke Hellenic not Slavic.

THIS is controversial? Wait till you get to K and have to decide whether or not you'll do Kosovo.
  • 7.58 if they were Greek why did they to to war to each other....Bro ! Athens and Sparta had a war against each other . Doesnt mean that they are not Greek. We are speraking for city-states. Like Portugal is Portuguese AND European and Spain is Spanish AND European....Its the same thing. Pella was Macedonian AND Greek too

Spartans and Athenians always went to war against each other. Does that mean they constituted different ethnic groups?

As a Greek, I can say that we do not really care about your name and we would be pleased with something like Northern Macedonia or something. What we just can't stand is you having this dream like perspective on history while EVERYONE tells you you are wrong...
  • @xats408
If you say macedonian or greek its the same thing because macedonia is greek these guys think that the are greek

FYROM is full of Bulgarians and Albanians. They are Slavic people who spoke Bulgarian prior to becoming part of Yugoslavia and they speak a Slavic language. The Slavic people didn't even come to Europe until around the 5th or 6th century AD... but they think Alexander the Great was their ancestors all because their name is "Macedonia". The ancient Macedonia spoke Greek and an overwhelming majority of their ruins and writing etc. was found in Northern Greece..... NOT FYROM.... but hey whatever floats their boat 😂😂😂

You forgot to mention Shutka, Skopje, FYROM the capital of Roma in Europe.
  • @andromeda.2o21
