Am I the only person who thinks the 3rd & 11 Steve Smith play is the most unsung, underrated, critical play of the Giants game winning drive?

It's so insane to me that I can watch this 15 years later and still get nearly as nervous as I did when I was seeing it live on TV.

Joe buck: most unenthusiastic call on the craziest play ever Troy Aikman: trying not to laugh oh my god!

One of the most amazing things to me is that Michael Strahan planned to retire after the 2006 season, already a 14 year veteran in the franchise, but decided to come back for ONE more year. Who'd have thought his final year would give him his first and only Superbowl win against the undefeated evil empire. Strahan truly went out a champion. What an incredible way to conclude his NFL playing career. Strahan, Manning, Burress, Tyree, and everyone else who players were all Dragon Slayers this game.

The Giants punter was the unsung hero of the game.. His booming punts constantly pinned the Pats back.

I will never forgive Joe Buck for how he called the helmet catch. One of the greatest plays in SB history and he makes it sound like a 1-yard run on 1st and 10 in the 2nd quarter.
  • Eli Manning went up against the GOAT twice in the super bowl and won both times he is the only QB to have done this
  • @Smittygamer7365
One of the greatest moments in NFL history and Joe Buck calls it like it’s a 4 yard check down pass.

How Eli escapes the sack and throws a good long ball and how Tyree holds on to it after Harrison does everything he can to get it out of Tyree are two things I still cannot fathom.. to this day. What a season.. what an incredible game !

Greatest game ever to watch with my father, and our team won. Thank you Giants

Probably the greatest final 2 minutes in NFL history
  • @UniversalCypher
This is probably the single greatest come from behind win in SB history. Period. The Giants win this game with some wild magic as a 9-7 wild card vs an undefeated Juggernaut. This is my favorite game of all the time and in my opinion the best football game ever played. Absolutely incredible.

Definitely one of the top 2 SB's in my era. That last drive by the Giants was unforgettable

I remeber watching this in the kitchen with my step dad. The memory burned in my mind from this super bowl. Lots of excitment, lots of WTFs, and an ending to one of the best Superbowls I've ever seen. My step dads gone now, and may he rest in peace. The memories that flood back to me from the last 2 odd sum minutes of this game where amazing. Thanks for sharing this.

I was in Greece πŸ‡¬πŸ‡· watching this game at 4 or 5 am in the mornin at a small Irish pub. Will never forget it!!
  • I remember watching this game as a Giants fan with my dad as a kid and him telling me "Son, that was the best game you'll ever watch. It's all downhill from here." He was right.
  • @Danny-ju2ip
I came back here to get motivated for the Giants Vikings playoff game 2023 wildcard weekend. That play with Eli escaping a sack and throwing the helmet catch still gives me chills. Lets Go !!!
  • @rickfeld7995
Giant fan since 1963 NFL title game. Never get tired of this footage. Eli was at his best in the biggest moments. Look foward to Elis induction to HOF.
  • My grandfather passed away and went to be with Jesus a couple years after this. He was a die hard giants fan. I remember as a sophomore in high school watching this Super Bowl at his house. I actually cried watching it tonight remembering him. Praise God for this wonderful game and memory I had with my grandfather
