I remember my dad telling me that he was on an flight years ago and he was already in his seat chilling when all of a sudden an angry woman started shouting at him for being in her seat. My dad double checked to see he was in his correct seat and tried to get the attention of a flight attendant while the woman kept yelling at him as if it was his fault for being given the same seat. When the flight attendant came over the woman started yelling at them too. They offered to move her but she was adamant about getting the seat that my dad was in. So my dad gave the seat to her and she was smirking at my dad or something. Then the flight attendant moved my dad to the first class seats for free. Lmao

So funny story Ken. I had a friend who was a first generation American, and her grandparents still lived in Germany. When she was getting married her Grandparents flew into El Paso Texas, and when they met her husband they seemed disappointed. She asked why they looks so sad. They responded with, "We wanted to see all the cowboys and the cattle." True story.

My aunt is disabled, and so when she flies she calls ahead to arrange a golf cart ride to from her gate since she can't walk long distances. The last time she flew, there was another disabled woman, wheelchair bound who was loaded into the golf cart and was supposed to meet her wheelchair at customs, but they freaking LOST her wheelchair. The airport staff is arguing with this lady to disembark the golf cart, and the lady is saying "I can't, my legs don't move and my wheelchair isn't here!" There was supposed to be a staff member to meet her with a chair until her own chair was found from wherever they lost it on the plane, and unloaded due some weird rules where wheelchairs have to be stowed. The staff member then turns to my aunt and says "can you unload her?" And my aunt who was too shocked to do anything until now goes "what would you have me do? Set her on the floor until someone comes along to get her? I don't think so." And sat herself back down in the golf cart and refused to move in solidarity until the lady's wheelchair was found. And that's the story of how my disabled aunt nearly ended up on the no fly list. 😅

As a retail worker, being polite to those serving you will ALWAYS get you more than a person who is rude and confrontational. Just because we work retail doesn’t mean we are uneducated imbeciles 😒

The reason why people treat the staff so poorly is because of situations like with that group of passengers yelling at the employee then the manager comes over and appeases them. All that does is make the employee look bad and thus the employee becomes the villain and the manager is the hero. I guarantee you if managers doubled down and supported their employees less ppl would throw tantrums and belittle staff to get their way.

It just sucks that so many people who have very little understanding about how airports and flights work choose to complain about things that are either A, completely out of anyone's control like a flight being cancelled due to weather, or B, something that is completely their own fault like when they show up late to the flight.
  • @SnazzyParesh
I have to be honest here, as a customer service agent, if someone starts yelling at me, I politely make their lives harder. I make them wait or just flat out don’t give them what they want. On the other hand, the nice customers get premium service.
  • My husband and I missed our connection because the flight staff told us the wrong gate. While we were upset, we also understood that it's all chaos. We were guaranteed seats on the next flight that was 6 hours later. It ended up being the best time ever. We played board games, ate, watched stuff on our phones, ate some food, and got some games of Magic the Gathering in. We had so much fun, and the staff was appreciative that we didn't yell at them (which is how we got those guaranteed seats). Just be nice. It costs you nothing, AND you could end up getting a sweet gem from a lump of coal you were given.

Im a customer service agent over an airline When a plane gets late, and the gate gets closed, its because even if late, the plane has to be ready to depart, crew cant take additional time on top of the delay to take more passenger in, thats basically to avoid having extra delay time (also making the airline liable for compensation for the other passengers that are onboard then), could basically cause a EU law to be triggered and cause everyone to have from 250€ to 600€ per person of compensation
  • @ernigee
This is the reason why we go to the airport like 4 hours before flight
  • @tweetyah11
That’s the part that always makes me upset about customer service is that no matter how badly they treat you- they’ll still get their way even at the end. Its sad but it’s the exact reason they act the way they do because they know we can’t do anything about it.
  • I like how Ken detailed how everyone outside of America thinks the country is a joke while simultaneously explaining that their perception of America is built off movies.
  • @AsAfterlife
I use to work for an airline, United in fact, once they say the plane is closed, we honestly can't allow anyone to try to get on the plane due to the long method of getting the plane ready for takeoff. Trust me, if we could let them on just to get them to shut up, we would. We also have no control over when they close the gates or the delays, that's out of the desk agents control completely.
  • If someone shouts at me I suddenly don't want to help them anymore 😂
  • The finger-waving guy has some attitude alright...It`s funny that he tells the airport staff they "are kindergarten" but he is literally the one acting like a child (spoiled one). Especially that bit when he and the rest of the sheep following him went straight to board the airplane ...just priceless
  • @Evelyn_Okay
I wish these collabs were longer. I could hear them rambled for hours
  • @suma0036
6:30 it's so hard for me to laugh at this, cause i'm getting flashbacks to my customer service job where i meet people like that literally almost everyday, and you can't do anything to help so you just gotta stand there and take their shit. feels great :)
  • @desty286
Man y'all are funny apart, but I love when y'all get together cuz it makes it 10x better 😂
  • @fanime1
"It worked? That's why these people exist!" Exactly. Now you know my pain about working customer service. And that's why I respect the places I worked that actually gave a shit about me, and look down on the places that constantly defended the Karens.
  • It's frustrating when the "karen's" get what they want after verbally abusing staff in customer service because it just reinforces their behavior when a manager comes from the back and is like "here's what you wanted" after their employee has been treated like garbage. -_- Those guys going to Amsterdam were intense.
