My rent is 6K a month and i spend max 40.000 baht per month in Jomtien if we don't travel. This is for 2 people (me and Thai wife) and she find this a luxurious life with eating out all our meals, regular cinema, beach days, motorbike, massage, rent etc. If i would be single i would never spend more then 30.000 baht/month everything included. I don't drink /smoke/party. With 50.000 baht you have a very good life as a single person in Thailand.

I love using Bolt.. Never had a problem with them. That is a savings that I like. I do not risk driving a scooter. And I would not pay for a Car. So Spending 3000 a month on Bolt is my way of getting around. Try to stay closer around Central Pattaya.

Outstanding information! Thank you! I don't comment much...but I love your channel and I am paying attention.

Thanks J, like you said everyone is different but that gives a real good guide. For comparison my budget is around 65k, the key differences are, i like to drink in bars so spend double what you put. My visa is about 1500bt a month as I use an agent and I allow myself about 500bt a day for “fun” money, maybe a trip to the cinema or a massage or a couple of drinks for a friendly bar girl. I never go over that budget and often save 5k a month!

Again, many thanks for a useful and insightful video for those of us heading to Thailand
  • Thanks for this videos, I was wondering about shopping and saw most of the items I would buy. This is very affordable for what you pay compared to what I pay here in Florida! I cannot wait to come over!!

New subscriber. Great Job!!! Thanks for doing all the hard work allowing people like me to make an informed decision about retiring in Thailand. I look forward to the video on a guide to "moving to Thailand" Thanks again. :o)

Hi Jason, Informative video as usual. Everyone's costs will be different. I think you covered the major bases. Regarding transport costs, I rented/hired a car for a month. It cost 15,000 baht. I considered buying a car. Had to factor in all the things you mention regarding Maxine. In the end, I decided just to use Bolt. Even if I went into either Pattaya or Jomtien every single day (which I don't do) and back home to Pratumnak again, it would cost around 200 baht or so round trip. That works out to around 6,000 or so baht. I get to be chauffered in air con comfort, no need to worry about parking and one way streets and no need to worry about rather slap dash driving of other vehicles. Thanks again for your informative videos.

Thanks for sharing the budget! It really does help folks like me when I start to worry about finances etc. It's nice to see the numbers for someone living their dream and knowing it is a possibility after all! I will have some savings since i don't drink beer or coffee:) As far as the water goes, I remember Loucous mentioning a place on his channel and they delivered water to his house. I just recall that it seemed reasonable. Not sure if you ever saw that or how prevalent those places are. Anyways. hope your week is great! Mom just fell a bit ago. she's fine, but i think i am still shaken up!

Great video Jason, as always. Thanks for all you do and sharing your expenses on this one. I just returned from Thailand, and came back way under budget. I’m always thinking in these budget videos people do are very conservative and the actual cost must be more, however now I’m beginning to realize that is not so, and that Thailand is just affordable on smaller budgets. I’ll have more than enough to enjoy my retirement if I do decide to move there in 2025. Thanks again for a great video. Look forward to the next one- cheers
