Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, simply known as Beyoncé, is an American recording artist and actress. She debuted along the girl group Destiny's Child in 1997 with the song No, No, No. She later debuted as a solo artist in 2002, with the song Work It Out, made for the OST of Austin Powers in Goldmember. She made her acting debut in 2001, playing the title character in the movie Carmen: A Hip Hopera. She is known for her dynamic, highly-choreographed performances, and by her powerful vocals. Knowles' songs are often characterized by themes of love, relationships and monogamy, as well as female sexuality and empowerment.
