"Warham I" oh dear Nick don,t give up the day job. Good video as usual.
-
Pointless journey suggestion: Leytonstone to Leytonstone high road
-
Enjoyed the 2 in one video, bonus point to point was good as well. CrossCountry did used to call at Brockenhurst but they sadly removed the stop, think it was done around the Pandemic
-
"Seatbelts.....Wareham!" One for the older listeners 😉
-
That foot traffic level-crossing at Wareham was very similar to the one they used to have at King's Sutton (Just before Banbury) before the footbridge was built there.
-
Nick, you getting on the Cross Country train at its starting point in Bournemouth with all the choice of seats is a good idea for a new journey concept — Travel from one city to another, but changing at every station where you can board an originating service. So travelling from Weymouth to London you could change onto starting-point services at Bournemouth, then Southampton Central, Portsmouth Harbour, Horsham, Three Bridges and then East Croydon. Every time it’s an originating train where you have (in theory) a favourable choice of seat ;–)
-
You stopping in Wareham reminded me that when I was younger we actually used to have 4 trains an hour between Southampton Central & London Waterloo. 1 Southampton- London, 1 Poole to London, 1 Wareham to London and 1 Weymouth to London. Also the small platform in Bournemouth used to be used for the Bournemouth to London Victoria service which now just runs between Southampton and Victoria (when they feel like it 😂.)

Pointless Journey: Canterbury East - Canterbury West!
-
You could have taken a GWR service to Upwey and then an SWR stopper to Wareham or wherever. Also quite rare to get a 450 down towards Weymouth, although not quite as rare as a double 444 which we have gotten on occasions
-
The slow trains don't call at Parkstone and Branksome, but the fast trains do ... Yep, that's how we roll in Dorset. EDIT - Did you know "Getting off at Fratton" is Naval slang for premature ejaculation? It's the stop before Portsmouth, and the Naval base, so the sailors didn't quite 'get there' ...
-
I need to explore down South more. Haven't done lots of the SWML! Definitely an insentive now! Great video again!
-
Thanks Nick for another great video, loved that the point to point was added in , more please.
-
Fareham far better than Fratton early morning as a few years ago I caught the southern train and had a bad experience at Fratton !!! all all the toilets were closed and I was told I should have gone on the train !! It was about 5:45am !!
-
As a local of Wareham, I've never even seen a 450 past Poole really so this is a rare occasion! Lol great video as always
-
Love your content, Nick! Keep it up!
-
Great video, Nick! Interesting variety of trains between the two stations! I gotta admit I do like the Electrostar, they remind me of the Turbostar's too!
-
If you want a real challenge pick a very cold night just above freezing, Bristol to Rhumney ..leave Bristol Temple meads at 20:57 then you will arrive at Cardiff central at 21:36 and wait for nearly one hour ....THERE IS NO REFUGE FROM THE WEATHER . Waiting rooms closed , on the night i went it was minus 5 !! I caught hypothermia and a gastric chill and was ill for 3 days, SOUTH WALES TRAINS didnt want to know. The challenge is to arrive at your destination well !!
-
Really like the videos. Have a suggestion for your point to point series, warterloo(liverpool) to warterloo(london).

Yeah some other train routes I recommend in the area are: 1. the circular (kind of) from Romsey - Eastleigh - Southampton - Romsey - Salisbury. 2. The part of train route between Fareham and Eastleigh. 3. Basingstoke - Reading there are two operators one dose all stop service and one is a first train. I live in South east of England southern have quite a few train routes that that you have to be in the correct carriage because the train will be too long to stop at a platform or it will separate and divide.

i’ve see a few 450s at dorchester, i too never knew they ran this far down the line but every now and then i get a surprise!
