Lyrics
I built a house for a love to grow
I was so young that it was hard to know
I’m as lost now as I was back then
Always make a mess of everything
It’s about time that I face myself
All I do is bleed into someone else
Painting walls with all my secret tears
Filling rooms with all my hopes and fears
But oh my, oh my
I’ll never learn if I never leap
I’ll always yearn if I never speak
To be loved and love at the highest count
Means to lose all the things I can’t live without
Let it be known that I will choose to lose
It’s a sacrifice
But I can’t live a lie let it be known
Let it be known that I tried
I’m so afraid but I’m open wide
I’ll be the one to catch myself this time
Trying to learn to lean into it all
Ain’t it funny how the mighty fall
Looking back I don’t regret a thing
Yeah I took some bad turns
That I am owning
I’ll stand still and let the storm pass by
Keep my heart safe til the time feels right
Let it be known that I cried for you
Even started lying to you
What a thing to do
All because I wanted to be loved…

The fact that she’s in cozy clothing, in her house, recording with a laptop, and having that audio, makes this so much more raw and emotional. I am so obsessed oh my god.
-
No mic, no special effects, just a voice in a room with a piano on a MacBook?! True undeniable pure talent. Real raw music!! This is amazing.
-
In a living room. On a sofa. SITTING!!! Epic talent.
-
I want to dedicate this song to all the hard lovers out there. God knows that we tried. He has now fully taken over and control over our hearts and desire of love and to be loved. At the right time. God will make it happen. ❤

"If everyone's making music for the TikTok, who's making the music for my generation? Who's making the music for my peers? I will do that job gladly" - Adele - Thanks so much, Adele. From the bottom of millennials hearts! <3

5:48 Adele's voice is so powerful and her microphone couldn't handle it
-
"there were a couple notes" ??? ma'am this was the most flawless display of emotion thank you

My dad passed away around two weeks ago... Just before he went to the hospital and went on a ventilator he told me this was his favorite song. Nothing thus far has made me cry so quickly, this is a truly beautiful song and it resonates with my thoughts and feelings going through this loss

This woman can sing sitting naturally in a sofa like nobody else. The song is like a stab in the heart. Perfect.
-
I would be perfectly satisfied to hear her sing this entire album with her sitting on the couch in her sweats. Her voice doesn't require any auto tuning, instruments, back up singers or an elaborate stage. She is just phenomenal!!!!
-
I'm kinda obsessed with this video because i prefer acoustic and live performances, but can't find any other live version of the song. So from time to time i just come here to listen to this masterpiece
-
Its beautiful to have been grown up with you. From 21 to 30. From 17 to 24.. and still learning and growing in the presence of this new album. I'm grateful Adele 🍂
-
her voice is so powerful the phone microphone couldn't handle it 😭
-
I love how casual she was at the end “there were a couple notes” like she didn’t just serve a plate full of runs, insane notes and great lyrics. Iconic
-
I FELT EACH AND EVERY WORD, Adele! 😭
-
The end though ☠️😂 like she just performed one of the most purest rawest emotional songs ever and sounded angelic and was like it was no biggie lol. Amazing isn’t even a fair word to describe that
-
she doesn't even have to try, she's just so effortlessly talented.
-
Insane how she just recorded it on a laptop like everyone making a zoom meeting but still managed to deliver the impeccable vocal and emotion
-
How adele has managed to be become a even better vocalist at 33 is beyond me

30 is honestly such a transformational album. It's all about her troubles but also if you listen closely, by the end, she seems to love herself even more. It was her transformational era. Forever one of my favorite artists of all time. God bless her always. One year later & this song still hits as the first time I heard it. I can never get sick of her.
