It's got that mid-90s early 2000s vibe; in those days TLC, Discovery, and The History channel used to show actual documentaries with real academics, like Chandler sharing their knowledge, and Robert Powell providing a superb narration.
  • 2 great movies about the war...ZULU and ZULU DAWN. Highly recommend

Loved "Zulu Dawn". Even though it showed some of the redcoats with SMLEs and cavalry carbines instead of Martini-Henry rifles, it was still an amazing movie. A fitting "prequel" to "Zulu".
  • There is a series called Shaka Zulu that was made in 1986, and it's worth the watch.

I love the music, it's not that loud lol I could still hear the narration, really puts u into the zeitgeist of that era in my opinion.🎉 there's also subtitles.
  • Thanks for this video. It gave me a lot of insight on my country and I loved the small dialogues of soldiers and the Zulu king. Well presented!
  • Could you do a documentary about Rwanda? I'd like to see some history of the Belgian colonialism and the background of how the differences of the Hutu and Tutsis led to the 1994 genocide.
  • This was good to watch but who was the bright spark who thought it was a good idea to put loud music over the voice over 😊
  • Background music totally inappropriate and too loud which made some of the narration almost inaudible.

Great explanation but the background music all but drowned out the narration in many places. It could have been mixed better.

Outstanding. Dvorak Symphony No 9 was not written until the 1890's, but like you I love the feel of the 19th century and the music that accompanies.
  • Absolutely brilliant documentary. Loved it. Truly first class work. Bless up 👊
  • I would love to see this from the Zulu perspective
  • Tried to listen to this with the music was driving me crazy
  • I'd love you to do a documentary about Gambia post and pre democratic states...Love your videos

brilliant video, would love to see more of the history of before Britain came as well as what happened after this. especially because this is such a small speck of the huge amount of history that took place, and the long battle towards a democratic South Africa.
