Alpharad having a mental break realizing he's genuinely good at something instead of comically better-than-most is pretty on-brand.

My god, it’s no longer about sending a message, it’s about winning
  • Getting all the way to the champ deathless only to lose due to his own hubris and then win by switching his brain off is the most Alpharad ending I can possible imagine
  • @gnarwhalnoah
"yunikhorn toughed it out so you wouldnt feel sad" only to die to poison is genuinely the most heartbreaking thing ive seen in a childrens video game
  • @menburst579
Jesus I can already imagine Jan's comments... "wow that was a good choice" "well played" "good move" makes me shiver

In today's episode of Alpharad, we witness our hero go through the five stages of grief by watching their credibility as a nuzlocke funnyman die, while turning into a safe meta player.

"Oh... A critical hit.. You poor thing." Is THE best thing Geeta could have said
  • Damn, a deathless run ending to Geeta, the champion everyone clowns on, that's just salt on a wound
  • @Vikumax
What I expected: A silly Nuzlocke adventure from the funny internet man What I got: A deaded trail down the depths of Alpharad's psyche as he questions his own identity.
  • @pomuf_
Watching Jacob have an identity crisis midway through this wasn't an experience I expected to have today
  • @Nocron
What a journey, he forgot who he was and after suffering a heartbreaking loss, found the light of his true nature once again. It's simply beautiful.

13:48-13:49, "It might not be so bad on top...." The way you said that was SO GODDAMN VILLAINOUS, Alpharad. Gave me chills, bro.
  • How beautifully poetic that when Jacob finally stops taking unnecessary risks, what dooms an otherwise immaculate run was his refusal to take a (safe) risk.
  • @dean3847
I feel like it isn't an alpharad video without any trauma
  • Arven: "You ruined my life." Chad Professor: "How could I ruin your life? I wasn't even there."

I'm always amazed by Alpha's choice of music. He truly is an absolute gamer
  • That cloyster is so wholesome. He wanted his dad to be proud of him. IM NOT CRYING YOU ARE.
  • Nemona: uses an attack boosting move twice Also Nemona: uses a special attacking move
  • Jan, Jacob, and Jaiden becoming friends through nuzlocking is beautiful. We have a goofy but lovable protag, a friendly and talented female friend, and a critical, intelligent male friend/rival. Triple J Pokémon animated series when???
  • The absolute irony that clicking the funny button (aka Skeledirge torch song) instead of the meticulous planning he went through in the first run, was somehow more successful is so funny. It's undoubtably an Alpharad moment of all time. And watching Floragato set up two Hone Claws just to use a special move that never misses was both hilarious and INCREDIBLY anticlimactic. Both of these moments are art pieces that belong in the Louvre. I LOVE the progression and growth in these Nuzlockes, you can tell how much better Alpha has gotten with them. I am a little sad it's just the gym leaders in this round, I feel like the Team Star boss fights are some of the hardest challenges in this game staying level capped for them. Larry is love, Larry is life. Even though I too was cheering for Comrade Larry, I also knew you'd pull through his masterplan. That aside, I don't know how he writes his scripts so well, but this was amazing. Love the use of the third movement of Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. I actually performed that song on piano for Dennis Rodman and Vladimir Putin and it was so awesome to hear it here! Exquisite taste, Jacob!
