Andrew Ambrose - Fresh Beans (Famicom 2A03+Konami VRC6 Original Song)

Since I didn't put out a new chiptune song in October, you guys are getting two new chiptune songs in November! :D
I felt inclined to do an original song in Dn-FamiTracker for the Famicom utilizing the Konami VRC6's sound expansion (most famously used in Akumajou Densetsu, the original version of Castlevania 3), mainly because I hadn't done that much with it in the past. I also decided to try composing something completely different than what I've done before. I thought it would be neat to try my hand at a song akin to something from centuries ago, particularly a song that would be arranged for a string group (violins, violas, cellos, upright basses, etc.). Admittedly, I also wanted to make things easier for myself and make something that didn't use any drums. I already had some lead melody ideas in mind, so it was fairly easy to start. In fact, the melody I came up with helped me decide the title: Fresh Beans! It fits with the song's upbeat nature while having a hint of cheekiness, and it's appropriate timing since tomorrow is Thanksgiving here in the United States. Coming up with the cello-esque bassline was a real treat, especially with the combined power of the 2A03's triangle wave and a 31.25% pulse wave from the VRC6. Since the 2A03 and the VRC6 have 6 sound channels between them (excluding the 2A03's noise and DPCM channels), I found it pretty easy to balance the lead melody and its harmony with the bassline and the accompaniment harmonies, and I'm incredibly pleased with how intricately I arranged the notes in this song, especially compared to my previous original music. I know this isn't like my usual "epic" songs, but I still really dig how this sounds, and I'm hoping you will all enjoy it regardless. ^w^
