Don’t know if it’s just me, but Robo reminds me of an uncle you’d only see like once a year but it’d be the best day ever

When Robo was talking about "back in the day in Toys-R-Us!" the camera kept going out of focus as he waved his hand. I'm pretty sure reality was trying to warp to go into a flashback sequence. The nostalgia is strong in this one. 😂

Beetle and Lizard are both the Ultimate versions.
  • @Samuntrus
I have that Beetle, broke in the same way. And I believe they reused that mold for Ultron and it also was prone to breaking. The plastic they used for them was just super brittle.

"There's not a tale for every figure in the tub" sounds like it'd make a great shirt. Or motivational poster in Toy Story.

    Yeah that's Ultimate 1610 Beetle.

I desperately want updated Ultimate figures, especially Wolverine and Iron Man.
  • Man I've been hoping Hasbro would give us a new Yellowjacket for sooooo long! He's my favorite of all the Hank Pym superhero personas

I love tales from the tubs. When you say things like: "Union Jack got updated" then I remember: "right I wanted to buy that", I stop the video and search if I can find it for a reasonable price. And it goes on and on like that. Wonderful.

“Hey bub, get off my lawn!!” Robo you’re killing me man!!!🙈😝🤣👏🏼👍🏼
  • Dang, that Loki looks especially good. I like that he is actually menacing looking and all that texture - wow

Iirc the Ultimate Beetle mold was notorious for breaking legs.

I definitely agree. We need new versions of armoured Black Knight, Yellowjacket (and Goliath), and that Loki

I know you worry you're repeating yourself, but honestly, it's fine! A lot of this is so relatable to collectors, just kind of visiting stuff we collected once and realize that times changed, we did, etc, and seeing what we miss and what we do not. Plus, it's fun whenever a toy kind of rescues itself from the tub like Loki here by genuinely holding up to a degree. Not bad for such an old figure.

The second Lizard, the Ultimate version, reminds me of the creatures from the old "Land of the Lost" TV series.
  • ooooooo that tease ending was mean Robo! I for one cant be the only one here purely for the stories of how magical toy hunting in the early aughts was?
  • @thegillman777
The second Lizard you showed was the Ultimate version. I remember stealing the soft goods lab coat from the X-Men box set Beast that ToyBiz did to give to this lizard...mainly to cover up that tail-spinning lever.
  • @nicmazurek
had the same iron spider when i was a lad. made me happy to see him again after so many years
  • @PCFDPGrey
If Robo has a D&D or fantasy shelf, that second Lizard may fit right in.
