Sudan Latest: Fighting Rages in Khartoum

Published 2023-04-17
The Sudanese military and a powerful paramilitary group battled for control of the chaos-stricken nation for a second day Sunday, signaling they were unwilling to end hostilities despite mounting diplomatic pressure to cease fire. Heavy fighting involving armored vehicles, truck-mounted machine guns and war planes raged Sunday in the capital of Khartoum, the adjoining city of Omdurman and in flashpoints across the country. The rival forces are believed to have tens of thousands of fighters each in the capital alone.

Sudan, oh Sudan, why are you fighting your fellow brethren. What animosity has entered your heart? Who is behind your fighting. Is it greed, hatred, misunderstanding or external powers. WHY ARE YOU USING WEAPONS MADE IN PEACEFUL COUNTRIES TO START WAR. Why should war pre-innitiate peace in Africa. Why? Oh why?😱. Anyway I pray for Peace and Unity. YOUR PEACE IS AFRICA'S PEACE, AFRICA'S PEACE IS WHAT WORLD PEACE IS. I submit

What a bad time to start a civil war( the last part of the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, )which would only increase the suffering of the civilians who would find it difficult to access food and water. If they had to fight, at least they could wait till the month was over

Sudan was better off under former leader, Bashir. He wasn't perfect but it's better than the civil war we have now. But at the same time, he's the one who was starting wars in the darfur region and south Sudan and the same militias which he used to brutalize the darfuri people have turned on the the main part of Sudan and were the ones who started this conflict. So it's kind of a as you reap , you will sow, situation. You opress people , then the same violence will turn on yourself. It's a shame , though, how the ordinary civilans will suffer over some nonsense of military leaders fighting for power
