Phase 2 dark troopers were referred to as purge troopers in the first force unleashed and an energy shield for one arm and some type of hand to hand combat weapon on the other are in addition to the the weapons and armor already stated (legends)

Rom Mohc’s biggest mistake was using a single ship to produce and deploy Dark Troopers, instead of a decentralized network of smaller factory ships. It would save credits, as well as prevent a single one-man army Rebel-aligned mercenary from stopping an entire Imperial project.

I don’t get the phase 1 design at all. Put the materials of the shield onto their chest to cover their power cables and put a blaster in that hand instead. Solved both weaknesses with little cost.

You know, with how over bloated the empire's weapons and units were, it's amazing the rebels ever won.
