Joe Pesci. I cannot think of another actor whose characters have made me laugh so hard, brought me to tears, and scared me to death.
  • @ThunderPants13
The crowd absolutely erupted when Joe pretended to be getting upset. Everyone loves a crazy Pesci character!
  • Probably the only actor who can be pure comedy and absolutely terrifying at the same time in just one scene
  • @Bert_de_Wit
When you're that short, yet you're able to convincingly scare your viewers half to death. That's master level acting!
  • @omnivos
Pesci stole practically every scene he was ever in.. The guy is a great talent.

Seeing Joe Pesci enjoy himself is too wholesome.
  • Every movie he plays in he makes a huge impact. From goodfellas to casino to even home alone. The scene in goodfellas "do I amuse you" is one of the greatest acting scenes of all times. Pesci, what a hero.
  • I know he's an actor but after watching the characters he played especially in Goodfellas, I still feel kinda nervous like he could snap at David Letterman any min now 😂

I miss the days when interviews were more about stories than just a movie pitch Mr. Pesci you're a master of charisma, thank you kindly for your art
  • It's lovely to watch Pesci and Letterman banter back and forth like they're old friends. How can you not love Joe? He's the real deal.
  • What many people don't realize is that Joe began his craft with singing, and he really does have a great voice.
  • Joe Pesci, Jack Nicholson and Dennis Hopper played golf together; can you imagine? And of course Dave perfectly summed it up -- "like maniacs loose at the country club."

I cannot believe that this interview is nearly 30 years old. Holy hell has time flown.

Joe Pesci is truly an American icon, love the guy. He can play from the funniest goofy to the scariest character and pull it off each time.
  • @GG-mr9iz
"I think Your face is funnY" Joe Pesci is funny and he owned Letterman. LOL
  • @josull5025
Joe is way cooler in real life than any of the characters he plays. That is some of the funniest stuff I've ever seen. Thank you for sharing this footage

One of the few who could properly interview Pesci. Dave plays into the intimidation, but levels the playing field immediately with humor.
  • Joe Pesci is one of those actors that can convincingly portray many different characters. Home Alone and My Cousin Vinny were fun but he did great serious roles in the Irishman, Goodfellas and Casino. Hes been involved in some great films

i was way too young but these old late night episodes of letterman and carson have such a chummier intimate vibe than nowadays where everything feels so polished and packaged. like just watching 2 dudes riff
