Your Mom is awesome and she looks similar to a famous filipina actress Ms. Cherie Gil (RIP).

My wife of 33 years is from Austria. She sold me White Russian when she was working as a bartender in Regensburg Germany in 1990. Like your mom says, the rest is history. 😊

We need more people like your Mom in this world; one who has understanding and no discrimination against EVERY human being, for really, we are all the same and equal in the eyes of God.

I’ve leaned a lot about how Filipinos like your Dad sacrificed to be where they are now whether in Canada or the US. Just providing the opportunities (education, job, inter cultural relationships) to their families to experience & enjoy what they wouldn’t have in the Philippines. Filipinos are the warmest (figuratively as opposed to the warm weather, lol) people in the world. Friendliest, generous, hospitable (they readily welcome you to their homes like you are part of the family) & very faithful & loyal like your Grandma going home to vote for Marcos! Filipinos are simply very close to one another like they treat you as part of the family. Your Dad puts it succinctly, Filipinos are a different breed vis-a-vis the Western cultures. I have observed how patient they are going through traffic whether as drivers or commuters day in and day out. I’ve learned to give way to others when I drive in the Philippines. It’s never too late to get to know, experience & appreciate the Filipino culture when you visit the Philippines.

Wow, listening to your mom talking about your dad, make relationship like a roller coaster as usual by the way nothing is perfect. It would be great if your mom and you have a podcast together. I think both can give a lesson on podcast.

Thank you for sharing your family story, It is inspiring to me and I'm sure to many individuals out there. As a 41 years young Filipino American man, I had a few tears listening to your mom sharing her and your dad's story. I can almost relate to your family's story as my wife and I elope together, I was 26 and she was 28 at that time. Her Filipino parents were very strict about the person their children should marry which I respect. 22 years past, which four years of courtship, and 18 years of being married to my lovely and beautiful wife who is also a teacher for over 15 years and we are still going strong. She is now currently teaching here in Las Vegas, Nevada at a elementary school as an Art teacher for past five years. Please let your mom know she is honored and appreciated in making a difference out there in the lives of young children/people. She has and well deserved every right to be seated at the right side of your dad and be called a wife, queen, and a mother of your home. Stay blessed and enjoy and appreciate every moment you have with your parents. My mom went home to be with the Good Lord two years ago and I can only cherish the small moment we had with her. Bye for now! - Love and prayers from a long distance friend in the Nevada Desert, USA! 🤠🏕🏜
