I would be interested as to how effective the safe armor would work on an armored vehicles. I am doubtful it would stop most full pressure sabot rounds or modern HEAT rounds, but it would likely work well against autocannon likely or even older HEAT rounds.

Get a Trampoline. Somehow install 10 layers of that material you bounce on...drop that fist. See if it bounces like the rubber-band ball or goes through.
