State of emergency takes effect in New Caledonia after four killed in riots

Published 2024-05-15
A state of emergency has been declared in the French overseas territory of New Caledonia.
That's after four people were killed in protests against controversial changes to the voting system.
Pro-independence demonstrators say the reform will further marginalise them.

Caledonia should be partitioned the north to the Kanaks and the south for the caldoches. Let the Kanaks go free and let the caldoches stay with France as a new french department
