Preparing the garden for the season - April 2020 Garden Tour

Published 2023-03-09
Spring garden chores bring such a renewed spirit to the garden. There is so much vitality and growth all around, and even though the list of “To-Dos” is extensive, your ability to tackle it seems endless and full of possibilities.

Welcome to the early spring garden. We have already spent weekends building the raised beds and moving soil - yet more soil is still in the driveway, and another 3 yards of mulch is to be moved and spread. Of course, there are the regular city garden chores and upkeep to be done, so see what we need to do to prepare for the season.

The summer was filled with flowers and veggies, so be sure to subscribe to see how the garden grew.

The city garden in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and is a Zone 6a/6b Canadian hardiness zone or Zone 5 USDA hardiness zone.

In April 2020, we created four raised beds here in the city, and in 2021 began a food forest on a rural property. Be sure to subscribe as we take you on the journey of managing two properties.
