  • Video Corrections: 1* Insurance Claim time for Carrack is 45 mins, expedited is 15m, cost is 22500 2* Turrets may not end up getting the same gimbal upgrades as hardpoints

Biggest issue with the Carrack now is that you cannot manually load or take off cargo because there is no cargo bay doors
  • I like the Carrack, but hate how 90% of the cargo hold is unusable when it comes to ease of loading/unloading. Can't put ships there, can't access it from the outside, and that's about the only thing not making it my daily driver. I do like that you can take off and easily park from spaceport (unlike 890j), and it performs in atmosphere a lot better than the 890j. They need to fix that cargo hold so its more accessible. Also it has food on board but you can't eat any? Or drink? I also agree the pilot needs some missiles, this is a military ship isn't it? Thanks for the review!

Ever since i got my Galaxy granting me a loaner Carrack, i have fallen in love. If only theyd fix the Arrow multiple landing states so i could land in it with wings down!
  • @TheSpaceKiwi
Stoked that I managed to get one for about $190 after taking advantage of some older CCUs

"People who don't need this, people who have a 600i or Aquila." Me siting here with the EXPLORATION MEGAPACK 2950 😅😅
  • Small correction on the turret guns; Guns on turrets aren't on gimbals because the turret itself is the gimbal, so turrets likely will mot see an increase in hardpoint size with the new Gunnery update with MM. The ship also doesn't have missiles as a design choice, as those are a finite resource and it's meant to stay out of civilized space without possibility of re-supply for long periods.
  • When those modular bays come online with the vehicle bay, it's going to be chef's kiss. Put an Atlas MCV in one bay, along with some building material in the other two, a light tank in the hanger, and plenty of troops. You have a portable FOB for all your Command & Conquer ground battles, with active mapping of the battlefield showing what's going on around you, and a respawn point for your troops. This guy's is going to be an awesome Command & Control ship.

I love the Carrack becose i love the Pisecs and Anvil Design in genereal. I love doing Bunker missions mith a Freand , fly there with the Carrack, drop down with the Pisecs and come back to base. Sure a Cutless red would be more efficent, but i love it that way. We bought the Carrack ingame , so making money fast isnt even the Target. We can do that with trading in the C2 or in our Reclaimer. This is just for flying our base, dropm of with the litle one and start playing the Doom Music

"To me, at $350 this becomes the best value ship in the game". Endeavor: "Hold my beer."
  • @varthelm
Full confession - I have a Starfarer on an alt for extending the fuel range on the Carrack...and others. Fair take. Great video.

I enjoy my Carrack Expedition. Some people dont like the lack of cargo access but I look at it as Pirates dont want to deal with the headache. Never been pirated while running cargo.

For me, it is 20/10, since it cost me nothing. 2019 was the year of the meltening. I, even, melted my beloved Carrack. A subsequent patient package purchase, and CCU chaining sorcery saved me enough to say my current Carrack cost $0.

Just wanted to note a few things. Seeing how we'll be able to slave weapons to the pilot eventually, and the fact that the Carrack has a boatload of processors- the stuff needed to control turrets, we'll more than likely be able to take control of every turret on the ship. Secondly, missiles. It was a recon ship before it was an exploration ship. Who knows what will come later tbh. There's only the one module available right now. Cargo. So there's nowhere to stuff said missiles. Third, components. Seeing the rework on new ships like the Zeus, I think it's safe to say that all ships, including the Carrack, will see a rework in their component size. It's a major mistake that alot of people have been making with the Zeus in comparison to the Connies. They think that the Zeus is better because it has more components thus more power than the Connie. In reality, the Connies simply haven't been updated yet. Same energy for the Carrack. I'm sure it'll receive a component buff. As for cargo, I'm willing to bet the cargo modules will have doors placed on them that are accessible from the outside. Basically turning the cargo area into a Connie-like drop down belly platform. I'm absolutely anticipating this upgrade. It's definitely long overdue. All in all, the Carrack is by far one of my favorite ships. The possibility of modules will be crazy.
  • @wkinne1
If only they would give us a bigger hanger to land it in.
  • @gergenskits3940
Got my Carrack with the Exploration pack at $695. I have over 40 ships/vehicles in my fleet, but If I could only keep 2. they would be the Carrack and Warden (Of what is flyable now. ask me again when the BMM comes out) I love my Carrack.
  • @jedi_drifter2988
The Versatility of modules will be amazing on the Carrack and IMO one will be a refinery like the Galaxy has. It will not bother me one bit to carry a ROC or 2 in the rover bay, since there is so much room in it. There may also be base building modules, we will see when modularity comes into the game.
  • @TubbyCakes
I just got the carrack. I got the game in December got a bunch of ships.. then decided it made no sense to horde LTI small ships I could easily buy in game that I should just get one big ship that I can make money in game with and branch out. The drones make me curious because I have seen so many videos saying different things. That they could mine and salvage, Or that they could be sent out to do deeper scans.. Etc.. So I'm confused what they are going to do. I'm curious what you mean about the modular bays?
  • @KurtacusRex
I have been wondering, in the carrack package it does not list the pisces or the ursa but they are avaliable in game. This strikes me like the loaner vehicles, as the pisces and ursa are not selectable to upgrade individually. tldr: Will the included pisces and ursa be avaliable when version 1.0 comes out? or might we want to pick up another ground vehicle/snub ship from the shop?
  • @MilkSteakGames
Having the ability to pull the ship from storage with a snub already loaded would save a major headache. I use it as a mobile spawn point for the party in the event that I eat it on some mission. Being able to open the cargo space would give it another point as well
