This movie would play it differently now a day. Everyone would be recording this shit and denzel would if been caught through Facebook live lol

Jake basically transforms from naive rookie into a hard boiled street cop over the course of one day; and the writing and acting are so good it's believable.

“You shot me in the ass” kills me every time 😂

I bet Jake will have a story to tell his next training officer 😂
  • I love how Denzel goes straight to negotiation after hes shot "Ok. Waitwaitwaitwaitwait. I need that money Jake." LOL!

Denzel's acting, from his facial expressions, his multitude of raw emotions and gestures/mannerisms was absolutely supreme. My God, this was his best movie. He really made you hate him but you couldn't help but like him. You paid attention to every single second of detail in this scene, thats how captivating he was. You wanted Ethan to win but you didn't want Denzel to die. He was too superb to exit the movie. And when he did, it was bittersweet and you know it had to go down that way. Man was a Devil but in the most entertaining fashion possible. A movie character hadn't grabbed my attention after this for a while until seeing Daniel Day Lewis in There will be Blood and then Ledger's performance as The Joker in Dark Knight. We live in a generation of amazing actors and the best part is that you can always go back and rewatch these films over and over again. To this day I wish I could've seen Godfather 1 in theaters but I wasn't born yet. You gotta appreciate the work and dedication actors put into a scene. Literal blood, sweat and tears in this one. Bravo.

3:27 You can tell Alonzo was proud of Jake for using his own line against him

He absolutely got off on hearing Jake say "you wanna go to jail or go home?" Psychopaths love hearing their "essence" replicated in others. Probably gave him a small pleasure in his moment of doom.

There will be no one like Denzel he made the best villain. Ethan Hawke defiantly deserved a nomination
  • @kirahoff8380
"You don't deserve this.". Most powerful line in the movie.

Training Day is just another testament to the brilliant acting of Denzel Washington. He can literally change from a good guy to a scumbag in a blink of an eye. Denzel helped make Training Day into an undeniable classic.

"YOU SHOT ME IN THE ASS!" only one person in this situation can bust out a line like that silky smooth and not only take away from the moment but uplift it into the stratosphere. Amazing stuff.

Player to player.. Pimp to pimp..Man Denzel killed this role. So did Ethan. Still one of my top 5 favorite movie ever.
  • @kadeembilal3047
You got us twisted you got put your own work in around here love that line so much.
  • Performances like seen in this scene should be shown to theater and performing arts students. The range of emotions, both physical and expressive, voice variations to help the tone transitions= elite acting.
