Rest in pieces poppy. You were a lil boring but cuteπ¦π

Am I the only one thinking this is monster high generation 2 all over again? I want the orginal rainbow high back, the details were everything and I loved the mix n match fashions
-
honestly props for being genuine enough to criticize these dolls and say what we were all thinking even though you got the doll through PR. A lot of reviewers pretend to like something just because it was a "gift" from the company...
-
This is why poopsie was a flop cause nobody plays with slime anymore and at the time they were releasing them the slime era was dying out anyways.
-
I can't describe just how tired I am of the slime gimmick. Have we not changed at all since like 2018?? Stg

What I don't understand, is that Europe banned plastic glitters and MGA decided this is the best time to add fucking ugly glitters everywhere. Like, along with the ugly reboot they probably are going to face legal actions if they decide to sell in Europe..what a way to make a really (imo) good line fail miserably.

RH fumbling this hard will also likely lead to decline in sales with parents/kids, not just collectors. Kids might not notice or care about the decline in articulation but they will notice the outfits aren't as cute as their older RH dolls (and RH/SH dolls still on shelves), and not all kids are into slime and glitter. If they wanted to give up on collectors and focus on kids they should have released these without the pet/slime element to lower the cost. Giving worse quality for the exact same price is going to be noticed by some parents and kids that have their own money to spend.

I can already say that parents will avoid these dolls simply because of the slime aspect. Little children dont always follow directions and adult supervision is needed for making the slime. But afterwards, the glitter will get everywhere, the slime will ultimately end up somewhere it shouldn't, and overall it's just a gimmick that has limited play value because the slime is so low quality. As for the doll itself, im so sad to see less articulation and cool outfits. I got a couple shadow High dolls because i loved their look and outfits, and being able to pose them in natural ways makes for fun photoshoots. Honestly, the rebrand just seems like a stupid cash grab that will ultimately fail.

So i am just gonna throw this out there... as someone who find their dolls PRIMARILY second hand, this is gonna be tragic. Finding these dolls in second hand markets, they are absolutely going to be covered, coated, tacky, sticky, slimey messes. I absolutely hate this change, I see no benefit...at all. Moving towards being a kids brand namely was a mistake, they had a loyal collector base with great characters- what even are they thinking?

You gonna get kicked off the PR list of this one π but thank you for being so honest and thorough as usual!
-
I'll say it again, MGA are slighting us adults for not going hard on their collector dolls.
-
I donβt even collect RH and Iβm disappointed to see this decline in quality. How can I bully Mattel into having higher quality if their competitors are lowering their quality?? π
-
As a monster high fan, rainbow high was our only competition, now mh is on top again π
-
I'm curious if they'll even be allowed to sell in EU-countries because loose glitter has been banned for a little over a month now π€ I wouldn't mind not seeing these in stores, but oh well... Lovely review about a less than lovely doll! Also, I think the pet might be a sloth unicorn thing?

This will be their second rebranding which is crazy. They originally came out as larger dolls with slime elements, I don't understand why they are going back to slime. Slime toys have had their time and gone :s I hate that they are now losing articulation as well! It just shows they are starting to cheap out and if Monster High and Ever After High was anything to go off of, people will get bored with the basic looks and just stop buying.
-
I never collected MH, but now I understand how they feel and Iβd like to formally apologize to anyone I accused of being blinded by nostalgia ππ
-
You donβt know how much I appreciate you not kissing MGAβs ass when they send you PR β€.
-
Well, no one can say you held back because you got PR. π Iβm not sure what kind of reaction MGA was expecting from teen or adult collectors. Maybe they think they only made small changes, but they make a huge difference to older customers. If they can sell more to kids and be more profitable I guess I canβt begrudge their business decision. Maybe that will give them some revenue to start another line.

Honestly, she's not that bad, I'd like this as a kid. As for the slime shoes and mold, you can just coat the inside with translucent glue and put dry glitter in there for a similar glittery platform effect. Same with the pet's head and bag

Rainbow High is officially going downhill. This shows it. Another example is the RH dollhouse. MGA redid it and it has fewer pieces and it is just a cheap budget version of the real/original dollhouse (but at the same price, of course). Then there are the re-release of the dolls in a budget version which have no elbow/hand/knee articulation. I've been collecting dolls long enough to see that this is the beginning of the end. Like you said with G2 Monster High. They created younger, 'prettier' faces for them, and ditched the articulation, and cut characters out. People quit buying MH and MH was euthanized. It's sad to see that that's what MGA is seeming to choose as the RH line's future. I could not handle your blurring out Amaya, I was ugly laughing at that.
