FZJ 80 vs Rubicon articulation

Published 2013-03-24
My brother and I decided to test the articulation of our rigs side by side on the same obstacle. It's a pretty fair comparison, as his 2004 Rubicon is completely stock and my locked 1997 FZJ 80 has a pretty mild lift.

The Rubicon lifted it's wheels about 3 feet in the air over these obstacles, but I think that was due more to the difference in wheelbase than suspension design.

Overall, his Rubicon went pretty much anywhere I did and we were both very impressed with it's stock capabilities. It won't stay stock very long...

At the end of the day he did tell me that he should have bought an 80 though lol.

Both of these vehicles kick ass but I think it's more than just articulation that makes the Cruiser seem more stable. The longer wheelbase plays a major role here. Great video BTW.
