Red Bull Is No Longer The Fastest Car In F1

The 2024 Spanish Grand Prix has concluded, with Max Verstappen winning despite being in a slower car. The fight was incredibly tight, featuring a close race between Red Bull, Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes. Lando Norris is frustrated with himself as the new fastest car is the McLaren. The question now is whether we will see this trend continue, and if Red Bull can bring upgrades to regain its lead. With the championship battle heating up, all eyes are on the upcoming races to see who will come out on top.

  • Without Max in that Red Bull there is no way it could’ve won. Max is the equalizer, he is inevitable…..
  • Forget the fastest car.. you are the fastest man out there to post a video analysing the whole race just after a few hours of the race. Props to you, man 👏🏼

Now we're really seeing how insanely good Max is. The last few races he has won is purely down to the Max Verstappen difference. Checo is still just a few tenths behind him, but with the field being so close Checo can't afford it, hence why he struggled in this race. Redbull no longer have the car as a failsafe

This season is really turning up Red Bull still is a very fast car Ferrari seems to have dropped slightly Mercedes really jumped. Personally, i think the W15 has a lot of potential considering it's a new concept and they're already this fast. McLaren looks like the best overall car. All in all, I'm genuinely excited for this season. Edit: That Russell start reminds me of 2007 Australia

Redbull apparently had the best race pace but McLaren has better tyre deg thats why they always seem to catch up heavily at the end

Mitigating mistakes is possibly the highest skill in today’s F1.
  • Deffinitely Max should be the Driver of the Day but the voting audience favors Lando, I guess theres more Brits voting than any other nationalities, I like Lando but I dont see any reason why I should vote for Lando.

A case can be made that Norris was using his tires to try to close to Max vs. Max just saving tires. This seems more realistic since Max was never threatened by Norris to push harder.
  • you have to give credit to max. without max redbull is a midfield team

Something Ive noticed recently is that Max burns bright at the start of the race but fades towards the end, Lando starts with a slow burn before bursting into life later on in the race.

Lando/Maclaren still needs to learn how to win. They have the car… but doesn’t have the full package yet. Experience running in the front and making the right decisions at critical times has been the difference for RedBull/Max the last several races.
  • Verstappen is carrying the team. Perez finished 8th and nearly a minute behind Verstappen which is absurd. Since getting a two year contract extension, his performance has dropped off a cliff.

Well indeed we will have a WDC battle. Just not Max vs Leclerc as I expected. Good luck to Norris. And the F1 youtuber WDC goes to you
  • @AJG63
Give it a few races and Norris will have win number 2
