The USS Gonzalez is named for Freddy Gonzalez, a Medal Of Honor winner from the Vietnam War and native of Edinburg, Tx...When I lived in Edinburg, (teaching at what was then UT-Pan American, now the Edinburg campus of UT- RGV), I had the honor of meeting his mother, Dolia, who served as a waitress at one of the hotels there...she participated in the commissioning of the Gonzalez and was beloved by the crew until her death...

Wow. There is a heckuva lot more concrete on the bow than first appeared. A lot was hidden by the bridge decking.

It would be interesting to have a view of the bow section on the Dali before all of this happened so we could have an A-B comparision see see how much wreckage is still there.

Going to miss you here keep the videos coming thank y’all
  • Great video captain Andy. Being able to see all that weight on the front of the ship I am surprised it did not rip it off.

I have found some in for you may or may not know. The team that rigged the dali with explosive is out of Boston. CDI Controlled Demolition Inc is a very renowned group. Thay have a YouTube channel that has the demo of the bridge truss.. This company has taken down some the most difficult buildings in the world.
  • maybe the ship ran a detailed sonar scan of the the bottom.
  • Am thinking that it was sent to the Southern of Florida. Because what Russia has parked in Cuba. Even though we were told that there is no threat.
  • i love that Captain Andy, yep you have to keep your Admin in check one of the things i noted from last few days, the remaining concrete tube on deck, the part of the pier leg that had the overhang chopped off, i see what looks like two anchor points bolted to the upper visible side, do you reckon early on they must have secured this with chains to prevent slipping off before she left the bridge site, makes sense, but i only saw it a few days back great footage as ever Andy, doesn't appear to be lots going on, but i guess its all down to the maths and unpicking this debris without creating fireworks and so on, as we all remember the Golden Ray

I am speculating but perhaps the USS Navy is positioning destroyers in vital ports b/c the Russian Navy is in Cuba on supposed military training exercises there and Venezuela in northern South American. And the USS Gonzales is named after Freedy Gonzalez from Edinburg Texas a decorate Vietnam war veteran. I went to university (University of Pan Am now University of Texas RGV) and lived down in the Rio Grande Valley for many years.
  • Just looked. And that USS Destroyer is on the other side of the Chesapeake Bay Tunnel and heading South.
