Ingo was chosen because his Japanese name basically means "going up" which is what sneasler does. So he's in the game because Arceus has a sense of humor.
  • I love how jumping off the cliff and dying once getting Wyrdeer is such a universal experience
  • @majhankee
You should have talked about how hard throwing sacks at Arcanine was

The poems make me think that Volo is from the older group of natives in Hisui. They talk to how the newcomers (diamond and pearl clans) started conflict because they didn't understand Arceus and instead kept fighting about which pokemon is Sinoh. It's written in first person as though the author is from the older clan (Celestica) so those two looking similar but having older knowledge would make sense. Part of their clan identity would be keeping the information correct since the author seemed rather peeved that the newcomers got it do wrong.

Not sure if Volo was supposed to have a tragic backstory, always thought he was a case of flying too close to the Sun.

I like that it was Ingo who got sent to the past because all he can remember is train terminology & all the Hiuians are just like "What are you even talking about!" Or watch there's a Pokémon game where it takes place in the future & Emmet was sent there.

And when the world needed him most, he disappeared
  • @mooblybloom
Bro dropped 13 hits and then disappeared off the face of the Earth

I like how Volo is such a good friend throughout the whole story while subtlety manipulating you later on, then he all of a sudden tries to pull a 3rd Impact on your ass.
  • @angeldude101
Dang, that Volo was easily the cutest character in this animation! It almost makes me want to forgive him for nearly ending the world. Almost.
  • @roi9618
I miss these I hope you are doing well wherever you are
  • @sireoh

Most Pokemon games, "Gotta catch 'em all!" But in Soviet Hissue, Pokemon catch you
  • @GrowingSapling
I love that ALL of us rode him off the cliff thinking we wouldn't take fall damage 💀
  • @banan1845
A goddamn MASTERPIECE I could not have this game explained better than you did
  • @MikadoYuma
Your art is amazing, I didn't know you drew all of these. Mad respect.
  • What’s sad is that if Volo just stayed completely quiet and gave you the last Plate so you could meet Arceus, he would have has his wish granted so he could see God. He’s mentioned multiple times that that’s been his goal, and he’s been there for you when everyone hasn’t or couldn’t. You would have totally let him ascend that stairway with you. Then he could have sprung his whole Giratina trap. But no. He HAD to drop the ball by challenging the kid from the future who both quelled the Nobles AND trained an army’s worth of Pokemon in a world where having even one is an accomplishment.

It’s more likely that the game takes place 150 years before Platinum, going by the architectural and fashion inspirations drawn from the Meiji Reformation period. The modern Pokémon games say Spiritomb was sealed in the Odd Keystone 500 years ago, and in Legends: Arkoos, Vessa reveals that took place “hundreds of years” prior. This means the game can’t take place any earlier than 300 years prior to the rest of the main series.
