Instead of ripping off minecraft like thousands of others, what would happen if some shady individuals just straight up stole the game?

I would die for more free games to have that “watch an ad now for longer time without ads”
  • @abod_bios2
kids this days are lucky they get a real Minecraft clone
  • South East Asian here, we used to pirate Minecraft PE everytime, one of us would have the latest version (pirated ofc) and would pass the apk around so everyone could play. The dude with the most powerful phone would always be the host.

Real reason: People cant afford the official Minecraft because they're broke, or their parents wont let them buy the game.
  • @casualwoomy
you could easily convince me this was just minecraft with a bad texture pack enabled
  • @roaringdino3000
I was absolutely floored when I learned you could access real bedrock servers on this version. I wonder how many people have been playing this there whole lives simply because they think this is the real deal.

As a teen that grew up wishing to play the real minecraft, these games, especially crafting and building make me so happy. Yes, its basically pirating but my family can't buy the real minecraft as we are less fortunate than most people. I really hope it doesn't get taken down from the play store, it was my childhood.

As a guy, who actually been on 4pda for a while(and on minecraft thread too) I can say, that this thread more like about modding BE. Yes, cracked versions are posted there, but mostly it's about minecraft and minecraft modding(in separate thread but still in one theme on forum). About cracked versions: well, piracy is really high in Russia, can't deny that. But also I might say that these versions are downloaded by children that can't buy official minecraft from play store
  • @Soft_oat
to think some kids childhoods revolve around these games

To be fair, I highly doubt the whole "these apps are more popular than real minecraft" part. Not only are downloads easy to spoof (the play store doesn't check to see if they've actually opened the app, just downloaded it) but reviews are easy to fake as well. I've seen apps with like hundreds of thousands of downloads that are only a couple months old and only have like 5 players online.
  • "Stealing from a thief who stole from a thief who also stole from another thief who stole the original" Literally hilarious
  • @kitkat-338
this is literally just minecraft but outdated and has a texture pack
  • @Adib3700
11:43 Did they really have to steal my texture pack for the panorama 💩 (it's called "1.20 panorama with shaders", I'm the creator
  • @epicbosco
I'm glad Crafting and Building existed, even if it was piracy or whatever, since I never got the chance to play Minecraft as a kid so being able to play a game that I had extensive knowledge and dedication to was thrilling. I was able to get my first Minecraft game when I turned 17, but still thankful that app existed lol

13:36 The "dodgy" russian forum is not in fact dodgy. It's just a forum for tech-savvy people to discuss various (mostly android-related) things, much like XDA Developers. Unlike XDA Developers though they don't give a shit about copyright infringement unless it becomes an apparent issue (although if the app dev specifically asks not to do a specific thing, like posting an apk/mod, they will not do that thing). It's a community for friendly modders and other tech users, basically.

I remember years ago around 2016 that i installed a minecraft clone which was just one of those cheap minecraft clones, but out of nowhere the game changed into fully original minecraft, no texture packs, no ads, only original textures. I remember playing that for some time until i got the real Minecraft, and suprisingly, i had all my worlds from the clone app. I remember some time later i tried to play it again, but the game was changed back to normal, very shady..
  • @RaphaelChannel05
These nearly identical clones of Minecraft has been going on for years. I had an old Lenovo Pad, which I don’t know the whereabouts of, has one of those Minecraft clones installed. I remember installing it around the middle of 2017.

This has actually been going on for a really long while now, I still remember from way back before the quarantine I was playing with my cousin when he showed be this minecraft-like game that basically his entire school plays and I was shocked when I noticed that it wasn't just your average minecraft ripoff, it was literally just minecraft but with a really convincing texture pack added on to hide the fact that its minecraft like the texture pack was so convincing that I didnt even realize it was minecraft until he let me play it myself. I think this was the time when these games only recently started appearing with how well disguised everything looked but overtime they just started to get really sloppy with how they hide it since I guess they realized that mojang doesn't really give a damn
