Since Embark have changed the way Cashout works in The Finals, grapple is getting it's chance to shine in the latest update. In this video I showcase a build that I believe provides lots of team based utility and can be as good of an option as cloak or dash.

With the recent dash nerfs and grappling hook buffs, do you think that you would consider running this loadout?

I love that this game forces you to be innovative with your plays

The fact that "Do the thing that starts as many team fights as possible" is a viable strat shows how much of an improvemet these changes are

I’ve been doing this strategy in normal games ever since the gateway was added to the game. And with that it came bad and good experiences, so here’s some “pro tips” of mine: 1- Always drop the vault to floor level with the Thermal Bore (the gun that blows up holes) before setting the gateways. Sometimes it happens that the opponent sees my gateway open and they just break the floor under it, so when the vault pops, the cashbox doesn’t take the gateway and I have to go there by myself to grab it (which most of the times it doesn’t end well). So by dropping it to floor level, you avoid this from happening. But then again.. 2- Gateways can be closed by glitch grenades/barrels. So even at floor level, if my opponent knows what I’m doing, they will just glitch my vault gateway. “How do I avoid that?” I’m glad you asked! It’s kinda simple but not perfect: switch the order you set the gateways. So instead of setting the vault gateway 1st and then run to the direction of the closest cashout to set the 2nd gateway, I do the opposite order. Why? For 3 reasons: 2.1- By doing in this order, you’re making a 1-way gateway. Because the duration of the gateways being active is the same duration that the vault pops. So when it pops, only the box takes the gateway and it closes right after. But REMEMBER: if you don’t OPEN the vault BEFORE setting the 2nd gateway on the vault, the gateway will CLOSE before the vault pops (I did that a few times..) 2.2- It’s a great way to heist the opponent’s vault. “What do you mean?” Wait.. the comment is this long and you’re still here? I’m losing reader retention.. QUICK! Grab your mom’s phone and put some subway surfers!! I can wait. . . . . You back? Good. Where was I? Oh yeah, the heist: - If the opponent has open the vault before you could, you can set the 1st gateway around 50-60m away (70m is the limit, so I set lower than it to have some room to run around in case I can’t directly meet the vault) and then run to the vault, and then in a 3 second window you do this: Grapple for rapid approach, so opponents don’t see you coming -> Set the 2nd gateway over the vault -> Take your own gateway -> (soft) Throw a gas nade to pop at the vault -> Wait for cashbox to teleport while the opponent runs away from your gas (stinky) -> heist complete 👍 And even if they ignore the gas and take your gateway to hunt you, you can aways grapple away, and outsmart them. (Edit) 2.3- (I remembered a 3rd reason after sending the comment) if you happen to die in the process, at least the gateways are set, so when the vault pops, the cashbox still teleports away from the opponents and one of your teammates can take it (if they are lucky) Sorry for the long comment, and thank you if you read it all. And if you didn’t.. well.. I have a tl;dr version for you: git gud, noob. Peace ✌️

Red tank tops, glasses and shorts are the new meta.

As a dash enthusiast after the nerf I’ve been experimenting with grapple, I love M11 with it because it’s hipfire accuracy in air is pretty good so you can really swing in and melt people

this strategy is great and usually my go-to, but only if you’re in a party. whenever i try this with randoms i cant get them to cooperate, and most the time when i get the deposit, my 2 randoms are dead on the opposite end of the gateway, so i’m stuck between tryna defend a cashout by myself, or going to revive my team, (which either ends in my dying or an enemy team capturing our un-defended cashout.) on top of that, by the time i’ve revived my team, our gateway has closed and i’ve basically swapped places with the enemy team and put us at a huge disadvantage.
  • @blvdes
I never stopped using the grapple 💀
  • @DaRandoGuy
With the rework, I agree that the grapple and portal are definitely much more worth having
  • @ADDISON396
Still running Dash. Have been Dash portaling vaults since they came out with the portal gadget and it's still faster and more versatile than grapple plus allows you to engage easier when not vault running.
  • @ThePixelPython
I already saw one of my random teammates using this tactic, and it's worked like a charm
  • @KutikiPlayz
I remember seeing the first teaser trailer of the finals and immediately being hooked when I saw the grappling hook, I'm glad people are still finding good uses of it cuz I don't really see anyone but the odd sniper use it
  • This season it seems like there is no "best meta" maybe some gadgets are really useful like gateway but usually it's all about your skill level and your spec' weapon and gadgets being able to work together. For example flame thrower and shield might be hard to play but flame thrower and winch is great
  • @iknowyounot88
I've been doing a similar tactic. I play solo mostly and my teammates are still Neanderthals running into every contested area instead of taking the path of least resistance. So I end up having to hold their hands, reviving them after I throw in the cashbox. Which creates a good pace to destroy the enemy team trying to taking over the cashout.
  • @RadioDavidly
Killer content bro. Gonna give this a shot tonight.
  • you gotta use this build to get double deposits and separate cashouts. i was doing this with grapple
