Nothing like some sam vaknin while the birds are chirping on this thursday morning
  • I've read and listened to lots of analysis regarding psychopathy and that seems like a totally different "anomaly" than aspd. Especially high functioning psychopaths, like surgeons, lawyers, special forces soldiers, etc.
  • Great lecture Prof. Thank you so much, I do appreciate what you do! I also recommend the book The Sociopath Next Door and Outsmarting the Sociopath by Martha Stout, really helpful books as well as great books by Prof Sam Vaknin ex How to Cope with Narcissistic and Psychopathic Abusers and Stalkers. Extremely helpful!
  • When you say "Okaaaay" it makes me smile. Thank you for this information. I was reading a study from the NIH the other day about the inheritability of BPD. I have an aces score of 8 but my father is severely BPD. I have some BPD tendencies (but am aware and keep them from being pathological). I was wondering if you could sometime do a video on the possible genetic component of BPD.

Very informative. I grew up in a highly dysfunctional environment full of people with NPD (and in a cult). I guess I was spared that fate by always being puzzled about the nonsense that was happening, getting out early and going into therapy 🤔🧭

I so much appreciate your academic background and explanation of all these pds. …traumatized people like myself and my daughter need clearcut well informed information and clarity. Thank you 🙏🏻

I believe that Psychopaths are extremelly anxious individuals but their anxiety is not caused by something external but is a general feeling.

So interesting! I am with out doubt that my brother is a psychopath now and also my father .
  • Drugs, violence on tv and on the internet, pornography, lack of identity, broken families and lack of love are destroying our society. Thank you, professor, we love you. God bless you!!
  • Perhaps extreme isolation with abuse parent in early years could be a factor as other examples of interaction with r humans was just not available and protection was always the governing instinct.

Thanks, these terms are used very loosely in common conversation, and they are a very frequent topic of conversation in the US.

I carefully take notes while watching your videos to discuss them with my therapist. A person I am (unfortunately) intimate with, shows signs of sadism: public humiliation, intimidation in private, lacks empathy, also towards animals, sometimes. Once he has chest-bumped me when I told him he could not speak to me the way he did. When confronted with his actions, he never takes responsibility. To point out his failures means there will be punishment. At the same time, people who don´t know him well, adore him because he is helpful and generous. He says he wants to make the world a better place. He has, to some extent, a problem with alcohol too. He had a bad car accident ( bad head injury in his childhood)

What would you say is most likely a person who has addictions, is a smooth manipulator, strategic, very intelligent, appears normal, but escalates to almost killing the spouse? Would have had he not been found out. He worked hard to cover his tracts, but several things were uncovered. Unintentional on his part of course. His addictions were cocaine, alcohol and women. He was able to fool a Psychiatrist and a psychologist. He took the gold standard test that took 2 hours to do. He said he knew what they wanted to hear, so he answered what they wanted to hear.

Is it possible the distribution being heavier on the lower end of the education/intelligence spectrum be due to anti-social individuals of higher education/intelligence recognizing the severe disadvantages of outward displays of psychopathy/avoid the diagnosis to not impede their goals’ progress? Love your work! Thank you for sharing this information with the world!
