Jokes on you, I can't afford any faction.
  • @lancourt
The Silent King returned from his untold millenia absence and said, "Wow. Eldar still haven't got new sculpts?"
  • Aeldari sculpts are not "old enough to drink" they have genuinely the most ancient models in all of 40k. Their absolute oldest model, one of their named characters, hit 36 years old this year.
  • @d-rex7043
Xenos negatives: "sometimes you can go a whole edition without seeing any new models" Xenos positives: "sometimes you can go a whole edition without seeing any new models"

Funny enough, my biggest issue with Chaos Knights wasn't even mentioned: Besides the Abominant and War Dogs, you do not have any actual kits. For all of your big knights, you have to use google-fu to figure out what the Imperial Knight equivalent is and then give it spikes and sometimes a different gun.
  • One day, I saw a guy bring up a Purple Sun of Shyish to a game. It was his proxy for a Transcendant C'tan. Said it was a clever way not to build the Obelisk. Then someone asked what did he do with the rest of the 50 pound Malign Sorcery boxset.

5:09 Space Clowns - not really a full army 5:24 Eldar - old, fragile models 7:10 Votann - barely a full army 8:51 Genestealers - hard to play, hard to paint 11:11 Tau - no melee, also, you need an airbrush 14:03 Dark Eldar - even older models (that will physically hurt you during painting) 16:32 Greenskins - kitbash central cause the kits are bad 19:06 Nids - lore, or rather lack of, and you'll wish for a CTRL-V for your brush 20:52 Necrons - assembly from hell 23:54 Custodes - enjoy forgeworld 25:09 Grey Knights - 10th edition ate your fun stuff, old (small) models 27:37 Marines - every marine is a rifleman. There are all rifleman. There is only rifleman. 29:07 Space Nuns - the models are way worse than they have a right to be 30:21 AdMech - more expensive than lost tech 31:26 Guard - the lifes of guardmen are cheap, the army is not 32:45 Knights - games are binary, either your opponent brought Saint Javelin or they didn't 33:47 Knights, but more angry - Chaos has standardized its army to use exactly one model 35:40 Chaos Marines - dreadnaughts forgeworld was exterminatused 37:30 Grandpa's Marines - he's gotten old and frail 40:07 Blue Wizard Marines - painting will drive you insane faster than Tzeentch 41:57 Angriest Marines - half the army had a stroke and is gone 43:34 Demons - I hope you like undivided

Ok Brad on the Deathguard point... historically Nurgle has been the durability faction since the before times. Mark of nurgle was a +1 Toughness when that actually mattered more because strength was more limited. The book of nurgle in 3e was full of durability options and a handful of "rot" options where they did special damage out of squence. Fantasy nurgle chaos warriors having options for a mechanic indentical to feel no pain when that was a mechanic unique to them in fantasy outside of a handful of magic items.
  • @ironknight132
Nurgle was the super tough (chaos) marine faction all the way back when I played in 3rd-5th.
  • @chadnine3432
Sisters go together like a 3-D jigsaw puzzle. I was gobsmacked when I started my Sisters army.
  • Death’s Guard’s resilience has been a thing since 3rd edition(maybe before, I only joined in 3rd), I remember reading the white dwarf about them being a slowly advancing inexorable force. They were known for being the tough legion pre heresy, deployed into the worst of environments, and post heresy too.
  • @TheNotreally18
It's still baffling to me with guard that they clearly want the faction to be Cadians, but then they BLEW UP CADIA and instead of pivoting their range refresh to other guard forces they doubled down on only having Cadians
  • @jo_ken
Just before it pops off Guard: In terms of money…..we have no money.
  • @magnus0017
For those who want to understand the Flayed Ones in Necrons: the building is the worst, but for price, $50 for 5 when they came out, and there may be more plastic in the sprue than the models. Then they went UP in price. As for building, look at their hands. Not their fingers, their hands. That tiny little thing where their knuckles and their palms are. On the easier models, you only have to glue TWO pieces together there. Usually it's THREE: the arm and thumb, two fingers and the back of the hand, and the final two fingers and the edge of their palm. God help you if you're not using brush on plastic glue.
  • @luketfer
Considering Nurgle marines have been THE resilient marines since 2nd edition I would say that was their deal (Plague Marines got +1 toughness as their upgrade over basic CSM)
  • Horde Mode has been great for my playgroup, one guy already got his wife into the hobby by letting her control the horde, giving her a way to play without having to worry about army rules, detachment rules or strategems, and letting her just do cool stuff. Getting another game in of it today before I send the email! Anyway now to watch the rest of the episode!
  • The flip side to Votann is with the limited range, you can actually FINISH the army. If you're like me and you feel overwhelmed with how many options most armies have, it's nice to look at my painted Votann and say THOSE ARE DONE.
  • @Doodlebob563
Death Guard have always been extra resilient. That is the entire point of the faction and when someone tries to say they're not actually supposed to be extra tough they're just talking out of their ass.
  • @Guns367
I'm adding to pile on for Orks. If you're like me and like the scrapyard that grew legs aesthetic of the Orks than it feels like you're being left behind with the squid riders taking up all the oxygen and it certainly doesn't help that they're seen as the main viable way to play Orks and you're shooting yourself in the foot to play with other stuff. I presented a few lists for Orks and the recurring feedback I got on it from others more in touch with the game than me was "Needs more Squiq boys"
  • I got into 40k at the beginning of 8th edition with the dark imperium box set. I chose death guard and gave the space marines to my brother. I picked death guard specifically due to them being presented as the impossible to kill monsters. It has been extremely painful for me to see GW take away the primary reason of why I initially got into the army.
