Thank you - you have made it sound so simple and logical to drain down my system whilst I change valves for a new radiator. I am even thinking about moving the pipes into a wall channel to avoid tiling around the pipes that currently project out of the floorboards.
  • Thanks me old mate, once again your videos are saving me money, I’m most appreciated for this, I need to clean the heating system, Worcester boiler has been with us for 7yrs, but I’ve never done the clean out of the rads. Needs to be done with fresh inhibitor. Trying to stop that crackle sound when someone upstairs having a shower turns off the hot water. Many thanks.

Good video Al.. I'm flushing & cleaning my f&e system in the week as it's venting into the tank. I can use a bungy cord to hold up the ball valve and empty and clean the tank first, so the rust laying in the bottom of the tank doesn't go down through the system, (I think I have enough sludge already in the system causing the problem) I can also turn off the mains stop valve in the loft which feeds both the big main water and f&e tanks, so that's handy.. I'll just have to watch that when I refill with the cleaner that the system doesn't overflow so losing the cleaning strength.. 👍

Another great video, thank you. Can I just switch of the water in a system by closing the valve on a filling loop?
