There are three words you're pretty much guaranteed to hear in a Nick Saban interview, "Respect," "Successful" and "A'ight" 😁

It's crazy how you can see this in action with players year after year. Julio Jones, Amari Cooper, Eddie Lacy, Mark Ingram, etc etc. None of these guys are big mouth guys. They let their skill do the talking so that they dont have to. It's crazy that even after so many years of being off of the team, guys with huge success such as Julio Jones continue this mentality week after week. I have major respect for guys that can hold their tongues like the guys at bama do.

This sums up his preparation/coaching -- "I Know you guys think Practicin' is practicing until you get it right,.... well I think Practicin' is practicing until you Can't get it Wrong!" ;)

You can tell immediately it's a good day

I still like the idea of having the players who fight with each other hold hands while they run laps together.
  • What’s so crazy about this is that Saban distinctly remembers that play from 30 years ago at Toledo. Toledo was 8-1 and lost to Navy....14-10. Remarkable attention to detail and it just goes to show that EVERY loss means something to him and he doesn’t forget stupid mistakes that were made. Probably cost Toledo a big bowl game

As a casual CFB fan from outside the SEC fiefdom, I must say that I was not inclined to like Nick Saban. The more I listen to him, the more I watch him, the more I hear about him, and the more I see how his actions precede his words....well. Can't but like the guy. Top class human.

"We lost that game 14 to 10" Elephants have good memories.
  • Practice until you can't get it wrong. Practice makes perfect. Nick Saban is the motherf***in man.

I know that Bear bryant would sometimes make players put on the gloves.

He’s teaching kids self control, this is why good coaches (leaders) are important, this sports are important.

I love how he knows exacting details from decades ago, on a whim.

👌🏼Coach Saban's mind set on or off the field is key. He always uses words like "emotional" "focus" "respect" etc etc..... "Practice to get it right?.......no practice so much you don't get it "wrong". Football practice is not too unlike firearms practice. In some aspects. IMHO. Here's a quote about firearms training that has always stuck with me as a key to possibly saving my life or a family member's life someday.......... "The novice practices until he can do it correctly. The professional practices until he stops doing it wrong. The master never stops practicing". You practice to win, period. Samurai Miyamoto Musashi quotes- "The only reason a warrior is alive is to fight, and the only reason a warrior fights is to win"  "A bullet from a gun does not make a distinction between practice and combat. You are training to be one and the same way in your life" Roll Tide Roll. 🇺🇲Stay well. Go in peace.
  • People we are living in the days of Nick Saban the greatest coach of all time.
