In this lead country guitar lesson, I'll show you how to think about playing lead by playing either the minor pentatonic, major pentatonic, or play around chord shapes. I'll give examples of each of these techniques throughout the guitar lesson.
Here are a few other country lead lessons that I've created that follow these techniques:

It's mandatory to come back to this video every 6 months to reminds yourself what country leads should sound like.

You’re one of the only ones I’ve found who teaches this type of slower country soloing! I need more of this

Brian, EP 173 to me, is probably the best melody you have ever taught. Man, I love this stuff, could listen to it all night. There might be u-tube teachers equal to you in my opinion but, none of them can surpass you. I salute you.

Thanks Brian, this is a very good lesson, and I appreciate your explanations and delving into theory to explain the how and why. I hope you don't let the complainers affect your teaching style and personality.

BRIAN ,....Just love this lesson! Been playing since I was 5, and plateau every few years. Last year I have been living in Kieth Richards zone which has been great! Actually very easy stuff, when you get your bearings, when you get your footing. But,... I'm a life long Texan and country sensibilities will never leave me, (probably why I like Kieth so much, and Willie, and Dylan, and the CLASH). THIS lesson has unlocked a very quick and easy path to all those phrases, licks, walks, etc, that are the colloquial standards, all those that are so comfortably familiar to my ear, (as a guy that's been going to Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon, The Continental Club, The Broken Spoke, Antone's, (and recently , The White Horse) over the last 30 years. This beauty of a lesson is so valuable to an old fart that has always found joy and solace in hanging out with a guitar. Thanks so much. Great channel 👊

Having been an AM site member for a few years now its so nice to come back to a lesson that you liked but found hard to play and connect the dots to and now listen and then instantly be able to play half of it immediately and understand where all the parts are coming from the shapes and scales they are all connected to etc. Progress on guitar is so slow sometimes but then you realize...hey I have learned alot

This is the best teacher online, if your not a beginner anymore...

I think you are a great instructor. I have been 50 years, & play country lead. I use the same cord reference for my leads. I still get more from seeing great instructions. It just keeps it fresh in playing. T
