  • Hi Jennifer, I have been waiting for this Video with bated breath. Because of you, I started Intermittent Fasting on my first day of my 70th birthday not to lose weight, but I had issues with bloating and heartburn. So today is exactly my 3rd month of Intermittent Fasting. I sleep better, I don't run to the bathroom 5 times a day, as before, and surprisingly I have lost 7 pounds in three months. I weigh 116 pounds and feel absolutely fantastic. I am 5 feet tall so this weight is perfect for me. I am doing the 16/8, I don't eat anymore snacks or processed food and prefer this method the best. So my first meal is at 11 A.M. with yogurt and some nuts, and lunch is about 12:30 P.M. soup, or sandwich and fruit around 2 P.M., and a light dinner by 6P.M. After that the kitchen is closed!!!!! I am grateful for your insight. I did visit my doctor for a physical and ironically my doctor also is on Intermittent Fasting. I love my new lifestyle. Thank you so much.

I thought my metabolism was almost non-existent due to my age and years of yo-yo dieting, but I’m now going on my third year of Intermittent Fasting and I’ve found that I actually can lose weight and keep it off. I eat three meals a day, 16-8 method, with breakfast at 9:00, lunch around 1:00 and dinner at 5:00 with minimal variation. I occasionally snack but never after dinner. Age 68 and I’ve lost 55-60 pounds. I’d like to lose a few more pounds but if I don’t then that’s ok, too. Loving my energy, bloodwork results from my yearly physical, and it’s rare that I even get a cold. IF gave me so much energy immediately after beginning that I started daily exercise. Jennifer, I appreciate you sharing your experience and the emphasis on doing what’s right for your own body.

Wow, 4 years! I'm glad you are keeping track, because I started right after your 1st video on it and my experience is very like yours. Right away, I lost that last 10 pesky lbs.and bloated stomach. 68 years old, at my perfect weight and feel absolutely great! Thank you for sharing this with us!! You look gorgeous!!

My 4 year intermittent fasting anniversary is in August. My weight went down to 106 for a while then up to 112 and is holding around 116-117. I’m 5’5” 1/4. The main reason I started was to help with inflammation in my hands because I was having joint pain and stiffness in the morning. When I looked up natural remedies- IF popped up. All my pain and stiffness has disappeared as well as the trigger finger! The weight loss was a side benefit. Plus, I’m such a routine person that IF fits perfectly into my life. I may bend the timeline if on vacation or out with friends but I can’t imagine not intermittent fasting since it’s become a lifestyle for me now.
  • @marlenehuerta976
I enjoyed hearing about your 4 year journey. I have been fasting for 2 years now and lost 30#’s. I started with 16:8 then read Dr. Mindy’s Fast Like a Girl and also Fast, Feast, Repeat and learned so much. I frequently do OMAD but still try to vary my fasts. One of the best changes for me with fasting was the changes in my metabolic and lipid panels. In fact my Dr was thrilled. I’m 70 years old and my blood work came back perfect and I was able to eliminate medicine for high blood pressure. I would encourage those who want to fast to not only look at the weight loss benefits but the long term health benefits as well.

Congrats on 4 years! For my whole teen/adult life, I've been doing a monthly 24 hr fast from both food and water, for religious reasons (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints). It has been a really positive thing in my life for, like you said, having the regular chance to focus on something other than digestion. I do feel like it gives my body and soul a healing break. We also give the monetary value of those skipped meals to those in need, so that adds extra meaning, and feeling hunger builds my compassion for those who are hungry not by choice. I'm grateful fasting has always been a part of my life. Now I'm interested in trying the daily aspects you're mentioning. Thanks for the video!
  • @marielle2066
I have an autoimmune condition. Several years ago, I started intermittent fasting and doing one meal a day to help me with energy and menopause. That coupled with being on a Keto/Paleo diet for decades has helped me tremendously.
  • Thank you Jennifer for your update. I first discovered you during your first year of fasting by googling Fasting. I was looking for a particular person but couldn't remember his name. I'm so thankful I discovered you and your books. You have made big changes in my life. It's also wonderful that you are a Christian which makes us sisters in Christ.
  • @janetlynn3397
I love what you said about feeling freedom and liberation because of boundaries. I feel the same way but couldn't find how to express it
  • I've been intermittent fasting since the beginning of the year. I shoot for a 14 hour fast every day. The most surprising thing happened -- the headaches I would get a couple times a month went away! I rarely get headaches anymore!
  • @user-uu6zn7vc6r
You introduced it to me and I’ve been IF for 3 years now…..and I love it for the same reason, to have guidelines. I’m relieved at 4:30 pm that I don’t have to even THINK about food again until tomorrow. 19:16
  • @MustardSeedish
I think it was your year two video that got me to go down the intermittent fasting rabbit hole. When you mentioned that IF was the way people ate historically it finally clicked. I've maintained my 30 pound weight loss. You look amazing.
  • I love that you brought up protecting your hormones!! As a woman, it is so important! I had a surgery that threw me into early menopause and it has been a battle ever since. Our hormones affect every single function in our body and keeping the naturally produced hormones intact is so important. Women think they can just take HRT and everything will be fine and it is not the same. You look so healthy and have such sensible suggestions and ideas that are also very manageable. Thank you for all of your fantastic videos!
  • @kg2096
I experienced something similar when I eliminated grains and dairy from my diet for several years. Lost a lot of weight even when eating plenty of meat and cooking my vegetables in ghee or bacon fat. It was great until I hit that point where I looked like I lost too much. Started incorporating some grains back into my diet and gained some back. Finding that healthy balance for each of us can be a trial but very worth the work. Good to see that you've found what works for you and that you enjoy it ❤
  • @robintaggart5805
I did IF thanks to Thomas DeLauer in 2020 and lost 50 pounds. I teach high school and slowly stopped and gained 15 pounds back. I’ve got family history with body dysmorphia and had to work on my mental state. Because of your gentleness I feel safe to return to IF and reach my own goal of a perfect weight and physical strength. Thanks Jennifer!! ❤❤
  • Good morning, Jennifer! Such a good update, thank you! You look confident, healthy, glowy and happy! I think Audrey Hepburn said something about the happiest girls are the prettiest...??? No matter who said it, it's describing you! March is my 3rd year of IF. I started when I watched your first video and have never looked back.( At that time, I did consult with my doctor.) I am 59 and just over 30 pounds lighter! Also, I will pray your stress load lightens up. xo Sending you so much affection and care!! With love, Kellie:_happy:
  • Dear Jennifer, thank you so much for your update. I always admired, that you stick to the same eating windows most days. That is my biggest struggle currently.
  • Ironically, I found your channel because of IF & bonus irony> I am drinking chocolate LMT with hot tea while watching this. I have been a faster for 2 years (I do 20/4 with 1 full fast and 1 "up" day a week). I am down -72 pounds and never felt better! Thanks for your content. Saw you in Victoria Magazine! How exciting!!!! Thanks for sharing your gifts with this community.
