In tonights episode we start working on the interiors of our Stone House in Portugal, designing a bookcase that is also a bannister, and getting out some bits and bobs from storage that start to make it feel like home. We also give you an update on how the bees are getting on, and we welcome some chirpy new arrivals!

  • Do you know that, after watching each and every episode of your channel, I always leave you feeling happy, positive but wishing for more. Thank you for sharing. ❤
  • Love how John "thinks" out loud to himself and creates a piece of furniture where most of us would have used a banister!! "Biggest" brother Joao is soooo good to your boys and a great influence for them too. His parents need to be commended for raising such a thoughtful, humble and ambitious young man!! Forgot to mention to John that in seeing an aerial view a video or two ago of his prized lawn area that it looks beautiful and park like!!! Tara...so happy to see you getting so much joy from your bees and thank you for sharing the process with us!!

I usually don’t comment, I’m Portuguese living in the USA for 36 years, I’m following your channel for almost two years and it’s an absolute delight every time you post a video. I get happy with you, emotional with you and absolutely love your family, it’s so wonderful following your children growing and how happy they are. I will be going to Portugal by the end of this month to spend time with my family , specifically my old parents ( I try to go every year) because I feel if I decide not to go I will regret it. Would be wonderful to give to you all a big hug and thank you for your videos, they make me feel so much closer to my loved country, and for that I’m grateful to you. Sending love to you and your family.😘❤️
  • Two excited, curious little guys, baby chicks, happy busy bees, books and a bookshelf! I’ll be smiling for the rest of the day 😁😁😁

Hats off to Tara for overcoming her fears by going alone. Its a very exciting moment with bees but I just can't get over my own fear from childhood when I was pushed into a wasps nest. The memories are painful. And the bookcase John has come up with is a serious, wonderful addition.
  • You are raising your children with all the good stuff...empathy ,hands on experience and wonder. Brings joy to my heart 😂

When my husband and I raised bees, I had my coffee with them in the mornings and wine in the evenings. They are lovely creatures ❤ The interior hive shots are fascinating!! Good that the manufacturers are sending risers for the hive. Brava to you, Tara for upping your bravery game👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Where do we even begin on this one??!! So much wonderful content! From adorable little boys seeing baby chicks hatching for the first time…to magical bees enriching your lives and the world really. Then there is that marvelous book case that John so brilliantly put together in record time….so well done! It’s just a beautiful place to stand and look at isn’t it! To say that you are experts at sharing your lives with us and enriching us too would be an understatement. Thank you for sharing your precious family time with us. The scenes are beautiful, the editing is brilliant and Wednesdays and Sundays are the very best days of the week! Love and hugs from very hot and sunny So. California🫶🤗👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🙏🙏
  • Man!!! Those beautiful little explorers have totally stolen my heart. I miss the days my two little boys were so small, but they became young men of 24 and 19 in a blink of an eye. Enjoy them as much you can while they still this tiny Tara and John. They are absolutely beautiful!

It’s so amazing to see Joel and how much he knows about being self sufficient. He was definitely raised right! What an amazing person at his age to be so resourceful!
  • Its the small things that make a house a home......books on a shelf.....beloved trinkets......drawings......and of course new life! A wonderful life you have curated for your amazing family. Thank you for sharing ❤
  • The look on Crusoe's face as he digested the chick was captured perfectly, amazing to see ! I have seen people put those stone eggs in wooden egg cups, they are stable then, with Prestick hidden away underneath the cup. I hope those young Portuguese girls are noticing Joao's qualities, he would be a catch,he is a real credit to his parents, they should be proud 👏
  • It's great to see your family expanding, it's growing by the week. It's also great to read the comments you receive every episode it's such an amazing community you have here 🥰
  • Another delightful video! Love listening to John talk to himself as he’s figuring things out (kinda like our daughter!). The bookshelf looks great especially with well-loved books! We love books and are old school…we need to feel the books! Tara thanks for being brave and showing us the hustle and bustle of the beehive! Amazing creatures! Crusoe’s little face as he saw the chicks, melted my heart.
  • John your such a gifted carpenter its so nice seeing ypu and Tara create such a beautiful temporarily home that will be enjoyed by others with love. Those boys are so precious and loved it just makes my heart fill up to see them have so much joy being on your homestead seeing them getting all the love, learning, growing by being where they are with parents that love them dearly to give them all this.such treasures in life you have given them.I wish and pray all children could have what your boys do.THUMBS UP PARENTS.
  • Ohhhhhh the face of Crusoe When he realizes what has happend. Its gold. I teared up ❤
  • I swear John is going to wear out that measuring tape with all the projects. I think it's in practically every episode. LOL Smart man always measures at least twice, even more. Well done, John! You do good work. Great episode with Tara and the bees, the delight on the kid's faces with the new chickies. Thanks for sharing.
