Ichiro knows the strike zone better than anybody. If he says it's outside, just say "thank you and I'll do better".
-
"He points to where he thinks the ball was." And that's exactly where the ball was.
-
How awesome is Ichiro. He drew the line EXACTLY where the pitch was thrown.
-
Ichiro drew the line exactly where the ball passed.
-
The things I learned about baseball from this comment section 1. Everyone loves Ichiro 2. Everyone hates Hernandez
-
If you throw Ichiro out of a game you should be ineligible for postseason & all-star assignments
-
Ichiro knew everything about the ballpark. He is probably the only baseball player who has a tighter eye than the umpires.
-
Imagine throwing Ichiro out of a game. Gotta be the most level headed superstar of his generation and you know when he points something out it’s to make the game better.
-
Ichiro was one of the best hitters in the history of baseball. If he draws a line in the sand, you know he’s right

0:33 Every video I watch with Ichiro makes me more impressed with his achievements. The first Seattle Mariner - truly incredible.
-
I think that was the 1 and only confrontation with an umpire Ichiro has ever had, literally in his entire 28 year career playing in the US/Japan
-
But Ichiro was 1000% right!!!! That pitch was in the hot dog stand somewhere!
-
Umpires need a grading system where they're held accountable and not just ineligible for post season, either. I have no idea how some of these bozos have kept their jobs for so long.
-
Ichiro's highlight is good evidence that the players' depth perception is often more on point than the ump's call.
-
The funny part is Ichiro drew a line in the sand exactly where the ball was... The umpire couldn't see it correctly from a far more optimal position. Classic.
-
I'm sure of two things: Ichiro is always right. And Ángel Hernández is pretty much always wrong.
-
When Ichiro drew that line, the ump should've apologized
-
I can't even imagine what a player feels when they find out that Angel Hernandez is running the crew that day. You just know you're going to be subject to so so many bad calls
-
They used to say when Tony Gwynn took a pitch and the umpire called it a strike, it was the umpire who questioned whether they got it wrong. I can safely say Ichiro is one of the few other hitters where that is also the case.
