Spirit AeroSystems - is this a hitman company?
  • Spend money to avoid paying in contract negotiations for employees. Soon we will see the contract.

I remember working next to a Tulsa Boeing factory years ago and when Boeing wanted to (outsorce) Tulsa and Wichita Boeing workers to cheaper labor and remove those union contracts, they spun off those parts. All the employees had to (rehire) under cheaper labor and most likely new working conditions. Anybody with brains could see what Boeing was up to when this spin-off occurred. Cheaper labor and no responsibility for that part of the operation. Well, it bit them in the behind bigtime. Now and only now while under intense legal scrutiny is Boeing fixing that debacle. That is when the slow decline of the Excellence of Boeing started to go downhill so it took a little while but it bit them big time. Shame of them. These are 200 million dollar airplanes not $200 lawnmowers. Yes I have worked in the airline industry for 38 years as an A &P. Its easy to see the errors.

But they always really owned it all along unless it was contract time or time to pay anything out
  • For Boeing to be still 180ish shows you where the power lies. Boeing is one of those companies that are too big to fail.

Problem parent acquiring problem child. Should be interesting to watch how this proceeds.

Haven’t heard of any Boeing crashes! Boeing has been beat down unfairly!
  • Lockheed needs to get back in the commercial airliner game. They made the most advanced and safest airliner of it's time in the L-1011 Tristar. Boeing was great, but the people running the company don't have what it takes to make safe reliable planes anymore. Nothing but overeducated pencil pushers.
