National MotoTrials Pro Shootout Highlights from MN

Here are some highlights from the shootout sections during a solid end to the US MotoTrials National Championship in Minnesota. I rode well enough to win both days with 3 points on Saturday and 1 on Sunday. I’m really happy to have stayed consistent and put in some good rides over the weekend. It was a relief after barely being able to ride for weeks leading up to it and stressing out that I wouldn’t be ready. It was nice to be able to handle the pressure of a low scoring event pretty well and keep the mistakes low. My Sherco was working really well and made some of the gnarly lines way easier than they should be!

This wrapped up 13 US Championships which is crazy to me. I am super lucky and thankful to have been given such great opportunities over the years to be able to focus on trials for this long. Not many people get this chance so I am very grateful. It will always be cool to look back and see my name in the results that many times. My competitors have stepped it up a lot this year and watching them ride is impressive, so anytime I can finish ahead of them is a great accomplishment. Awesome riding this year everyone!

This wouldn’t be possible without a bunch of great people behind me. Huge thanks to the Sallman’s for continuing the incredible support! They put a ton of effort into this that no one sees and it means a lot to me. Thanks to the rest of the Sherco family and all of the team sponsors for making it all work. Thanks to my family for always pushing me to keep going. It was awesome to have my wife, parents, and brother David (extra thanks and sorry to him for minding instead of riding) in MN. Thanks to the fans and organizers to give us a reason and place to compete.

Now it’s time to see if I remember how to ride an enduro bike! I’ll be racing that in a soon and have been too focused on the trials season to put any time on it in way too long… but I’m looking forward to the challenge.
