I'm a Delta 757 pilot, I do the Tampa flight often. I'm thrilled you had a good experience. We work hard to ensure our culture matches our high customer expectations. We hope to earn your business time and time again in the future.

2 things 1. Spirits ceo actually said they want to be the mcds of the sky 2. Thats not duct tape. Its speed tape. All airlines use it. Its FAA certified and completely legal to use in any form

14:45 that is the key. $150 vs $30 a lot of people value saving money.

Spirit is only cheap if you can fly with basically no luggage other than a small backpack or personal item. If you need even a full sized carry on, you will pay thru the nose, and the price difference between Spirit and a real airline evaporates quickly. I considered Spirit for a flight coming up, but when I realized I would have to pay more than my seat cost to bring on a carry on, I passed.

Just since recently, Delta changed their policies in their perks for AmEx, unfortunately, they are restricting most of the stuff. ☹
  • spirit and frontier are the kind of airlines where they are at best fine when everything is going right. but when things go wrong, they go really really wrong.
  • I love Delta! I flew them from Tokyo to Phoenix. The crew was phenomenal. The seat was comfy. If I could fly them from now on I would, but as a teacher I have to look for the cheapest flight.

I’ve never really had an issue with spirit it’s not anything special but it gets me to my destination

Seems like you WANTED to have a bad experience on Spirit even if it wasn't that bad.

to be fair, that's a pretty large price difference. If you are only taking a short flight, i'm sure most people can manage without wifi for a bit, can still use your phone offline to listen to podcasts or music. And take your own snacks on board rather than bother with the in flight offers. The only obvious annoyance would be the delay, but often these are outside the airline's control,

I think it comes down to what your expectations are for flying. There can be pros and cons for both.

For a flight that short, I will always take the flight for $30. Money saved could get me a good meal at my destination. I haven't flown on Spirit, but I fly Frontier whenever I can to be back to NY. And it is from my understanding about the same as Spirit. I fly Delta most often on longer flights out of all the US airlines. Sadly the made major changes to their frequent flyer program.

I say this depends on what you expect. When Spirit costs $30 and Delta costs 5 times more for the same distance, I will definitely choose Spirit just be cause it has the higher cost-performance value. These airlines have different target customer segmentations, and you prefer Delta because you belongs to their target segmentation.
  • Nice vid! I've never had an issue with Spirit, but it's good for people to know what to expect when flying them. For a cheap way to get from A to B, they're better than taking the Greyhound bus. Did you know they have the youngest Airbus fleet in the US? Once JetBlue acquires them, those seats will go away. JetBlue offer's the most legroom in economy class in the US, and also free WiFi, so should get even better soon.
  • Fun fact : if u board spirit airlines u become one of them 😂😂😂😂
  • @lukapuma22
Love your content Eric! One day you should take a international flight with Delta! Took one from JFK to Athens on an Airbus A330. Got some rest, had great movies, and the food was actually chewable! Flew in econemy btw
  • @PIlotrcm
Comparing Delta vs Spirit is like comparing apples and oranges
