Hey travelers! This week, Eric is back and we're partnering up again to share 13 IMPORTANT TIPS for visiting New Orleans! Yes, just in time for all you Mardi Gras party animals to plan your New Orleans adventure!

His YouTube channel has so much great detail about New Orleans sites, attractions, activities, foods, and more, so I thought it would be helpful to bring him into our Means To Travel community to share his great insights!

We filmed this during my very first time in NOLA, and I was so glad to have Eric as a bit of a guide. Derek was there behind the camera, too, and we all had a blast!

Hope you enjoy! Happy travels!

  • Was in New Orleans two weeks ago and my stay was a wonderful week worth. The food is memorable the Court of Two Sisters, Dooky Chase, Lil Dizzy’s, The Gumbo Shop, Willie Mae’s all the best. Watch out for people asking you if they can guess what city you’re from or compliment your tennis shoes. Definitely explore the Garden District if you’re a Anne Rice or American Horror Story fan. Another tip, Cafe Du Monde is cash only.

Hello I will be in NO very soon and I would love to try out the restaurant Derek got his breakfast plate with fried chicken, biscuits & gravy from. It looks very delicious and I can’t wait to get my hands on some of the food! Thanks in advance❤️
  • I went to school in BR with Eric! You can also buy alcohol in Texas to go as well. I’ve bought plenty daiquiris in Texas in the drive thru (i.e. Eskimo Hut, Taco Cabana, etc.)
  • Heading to New Orleans next week by default! I’m not sure of the post hurricane conditions in Tampa, and Dallas always seems expensive. I always stay at the Intercontinental in the Business District. Extremely peaceful. This is a relaxation trip. So I’m glad that you included parks, museums, and Frenchman Street (which I’ve never been before). Side note: Watch the 💩 on the ground. Sometimes it’s not always from the horses 🤦🏾‍♂️🤬
