A lot of the special weapons (such as the reduvia) work best when focusing on mainly using their unique weapon skills, as their base damage for normal attacks can be a bit low. Nice work with Agheel! Idk what all caves and such you've been to yet, but (without spoiling TOO much) there is one in limgrave that will lead you to a place you can use that dragon heart if you desire the strength of dragons, if you haven't found it already. :)
