If you were taking an engineering class in school and you turned in the human body for your final exam… you would get like, a C+. Or maybe a B- at best. That’s because the human body is full of design flaws. Except they aren’t really design flaws, because the human body wasn’t designed. It was evolved, and it is still evolving. And that means some of our parts don’t work as well as they could, they just work well enough. Here’s a rundown of a few of the human body’s biggest evolutionary fails!

Evolution always reminds of the joke in which two hunters see a bear moving their way. One quickly pulls off his boots. and puts on running shoes. His friend looks at him as says "are you crazy? Even with those shoes, you'll never outrun a bear". His friend replies "I don't need to outrun the bear, I need to outrun YOU". That's evolution - your variation doesn't need to be the best that can be, it just needs to be better than the others around you.

This is probably the most succinct and entertaining argument against Intelligent Design I have seen. Evolution is a random walk. It can lead to wonderful places, such as the extreme color vision of mantis shrimps, or to much less nice ones, as in the numerous spinal and lower-body bone and muscle issues coming from our bipedal stance.
